We got an e-mail notice that the I-129F has been approved, same date as I-130s (08-28-2009).

How fast are CR1s processed considering you have a complete case at NVC and all the bills (for AOS and IV) are paid?

Our circumstances have not changed...Brenda (my husband's flatmate) is still expecting him to move out of the apartment within the next 2 months or less.

Rick was reviewing the VJ immigration timelines for K3/K4 and CR1/CR2 while I was sleeping, and basically he would be royally screwed if we are stuck in either visa process (during the NVC and US Embassy Manila leg of the journey) for more than 3 months.

Remember, because he has had two major paycuts this year, he will be left with very little cash (after taxes and paying bills) for his day-to-day starting September...we've read the NVC shortcuts for CR1/CR2...but the NVC also cautions against sending requirements when they have not been requested yet...

We're so anxious to be reunited...Rick is on edge (understandably), and of course, being his wife, I am feeling the stress and the strain...I sorely want to believe we will not be stuck in AP or in any other delay, but I know that would be an unrealistic expectation...

I have a good job here in the Philippines so I am not worried about his (temporary) limited ability to support us, and am trying my best to save as much money as I can to help us move. Rick is going to try to get a second job...although that will also cut the time we have to talk to each other (as it is very important for us to spend time together on the phone and online while we are apart).

Thank you for listening...hope we are together again really soon...we're just two people who are truly crazy about each other and want to spend the rest of our lives together...what I'd give for the rest of this process to be painless and RFE-free and AP-free!

Be smart, have a plan, and hang on to the people you love. - Chris Gardner

Gosh, with your circumstances..there are pros and cons to both.

If he is saying that you need to be done in 3 months, the safest route would be the k3(its also cheaper upfront).

BUT, you wont be able to work for 3 months when you first get here and the AOS is 1010.

You could apply for EAD standalone as soon as you get here (340.00) based on the k3...you still wont be able to work for 3 months, but that gives you some breathing room with the AOS and time to save up for it whiel you guys are both working.

The CR1 can take longer and cost a little more up front with the fees, but you'll be able to work right away and not have to deal with USCIS for another 2 years.

Its all up to you guys and I wish you the best :)

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!
