Thought i'd share a funny...it's from my blog, I figured the Canadians would get a laugh out of it.

http://sexxywriter.com/blog/?p=89

My usual Tim's order was always:

Large black coffee, a toasted blueberry bagel with light strawberry cream cheese. And in the summer time, of course, a large Iced Capp with 2% milk...mmmmm :)

Even though I become a traitor about a year ago and became a Starbucks gal....blame it on the American...my husband corrupted me! lol

See signature. :D

But one of my favorite things at Timmy's is what my friend calls the "stinky" bagel: everything bagel with herb and garlic spread.

I'm a blueberry/strawberry kind of gal too!! My late husband and I used to go to Timmies and have those all the time.

It's also the only time I'll have my coffee with cream and sugar, even though I drink it black. I love the taste of a double-double!!

Oh that is hilarious!!!!!! Thanks for sharing the link - I'm gonna smile a while remembering that!

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Yawn. You know, this Tim Hortons thing on VJ gets a bit old after a while.

After all, there are other native Canadian donut chains.

Country Style, anyone?

Or for more upscale coffee outlets:

Or Timothy's

Puhleeze. The constant promos of Tim Hortons on VJ are making me wonder if Ewok is taking contributions for the promotional placements

 That story is hilarious! I dread going through the Timmies drive thru at night at the closest one to my house! Usually its only 1 person working and it takes 4 ever!!

Now onto my "regular" order. Medium or Large double-double and a fruit explosion muffin. Mmmmm....sometimes if its hot enough outside an Iced Cappucino!

:o scandual!!! Its not about advertising or promoting!! There are lots of Canadian Timmies fans!!!

Don't get me wrong.

I have nothing against Tim Hortons.

Au contraire - I indulge in the treats myself at every opportunity, and have even been known to import a dozen assorted Dutchies, Maple Glazed, and others for my kids to remote locales - first to Israel, and more recently to Brazil.

I think the Tim Hortons thing on VJ however has just been beaten to death. It's Timbits, Timbits everywhere you go. It's about time the Americans (and other non-Canadians) realized there's more to Canadian fast food culture, and mass merchandising, than just Tim Hortons! Thank gawd Sister Len used to work at a Second Cup in Edmonton - at least she appreciates the finer things about Canadian coffees shops :P

Oh boy! As a former Tim Horton's employee I understand... Imagine having to work with people like that! That woman you described sounds like 75% of the people I had to work with

I'm a large DD, a medium french vanilla cappuccino, or a medium iced capp made with chocolate milk in the summer. Since I worked there for 3 years I normally wouldn't eat any of the food when I wasn't working. Occasionally I'd treat myself with a frosted cinnamon role :)

Well if one has nothing to order (Scandal) Then why post in the topic?? Why do some people have to be soo negative? I dislike 99.99999% of the topic in the off topic forum,so guess what, I don't post, lol I actually have control over my fingers on where to type, crazy, lol I guess it would not be VJ if the grumpy people didnt make an appearance in most threads!

99.9% of the time I just order a XL coffee with triple cream. Not a big fan of their donuts. On my way to my first day of actual work and probably stop at Starbucks, no other coffee shops in the area. Nice thread poprocks!! I averaged 2 XL timmies when i was recently back in Stoon for 2 weeks.

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1
