I am starting to freak out here... My interview will be in 2 days. I thought I have every document for judgement day till I read one post enumerating a letter of intent to marry, which i dont have.. .. Will they really ask for this??.. is this just a typed up letter stating I will marry my fiance??.. Is this just for additional proofs??... :help: Please help me, I dont wanna mess up things just because of one paper.. (Why didnt I know about this months ago..hehe)

They might, might not ask for it - it is a reaffirmation that you guys do intend to marry. As a best practice - it is suggested you have one from each of you on hand for the interview (just like you probably did one for the petition). I wouldn't lose sleep over it but if you can create them - go ahead and do so.

When I first filed the 129f for my wife I sent the letter of intent with the original application, if this is the case with yours they will already have a copy sent by your fiancee. You can also have your fiancee scan and email you a copy for you to print..

I was told they have all the stuff you initially sent to USICS so included in that stuff they've got that letter already. The stuff on the list by the embassy is all you need supposedly. I am giving her copies of the original stuff too but haven't sent the letter thing. I probably will now just in case.

Probably not, because the form 156K at the bottom below where it says...The consular officer will assist you in answering this part. You will sign this part:

"I understand that I am required to submit my visa to the United States Immigration Officer at the place where I apply to enter the United States, and that the possession of a visa does not entitle me to enter the United States if at that time I am found to be inadmissible under the immigration laws. I further understand that my adjustment of status to permanent resident alien is dependent upon marriage to a U.S. citizen and upon meeting all of the requirements of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

I understand that any willfully false or misleading statement or willful concealment of a material fact made by me herein may subject me to permanent exclusion from the United States and, if I am admitted to the United States, may subject me to criminal prosecution and/or deportation.

I hereby certify that I am legally free to marry and intend to marry , ______INSERT FIANCE NAME HERE________ a U.S. citizen, within 90 days of my admission into the United States.

I do solemnly swear or affirm that all statements which appear in this application have been made by me and are true and complete to the best of my knowledge and belief."

The bold part is basically the same thing as a letter of intent. They did not ask us for one either even though we had one prepared.

Hope this helps.

Hi, Letter of Intent is important, my husband prepared for that during our 129F, stating his intention of marrying me, with printed name and signature.Asks your fiance to prepare one for you if you still don`t have it, it might be ask from you, better prepare it to avoid problems at the interview...Your fiance can do it in the computer , have it signed , scan it and email to u as attachment if you really don`t have enough time.

Good luck and God bless!

This is correct. The letter of intent was included in our case that was sent to USCIS. It has been forwarded to Manila. We're all good.

Our attorney prepared our documents and he asked my fiance to make Letter of Intent to Marry but he didn`t ask me to prepare one. Iam not sure if it is really a requirement for the benficiary since it is not included on the list from the USEM website.

The original "circumstance of meeting/intent to marry" letter that is sent along with all the other stuff to USCIS is forwarded to Manila. The USEM has all that stuff already. It's all good.
