In reference to NOA1 > NOA2 notice time.

If you look at the graphs for the CSC vs. VSC, you will see a long time trend declining to 100 days

for the California center and the same trend but increasing to 150 days for the Vermont center.

Is there a glut of applications in the VT center? It doesn't look like that. It's a bummer if

they are arbitrarily being much more hard-nosed than the CSC.

Any ideas?

I think the glut of visa applications for B1 visas came primarily to VT because the east coast is more populated, therefor more jobs available. My other theory is that they were informed of cutbacks in personell and responded as any union would. Sloooooow

Here's another little tidbit re: stats of CSC vs. VSC:

In August 2009, The CSC had 54 I-129F forms sent by VJ members, while the VSC had 53.

Not much difference.

Among that group, 42 applying to the CSC got NOA1's while the VSC group received only 35 NOA1's.

That's more of a difference.

Maybe they cut back in their personnel as Mari Joe suggested.

In any case, I'm guessing that there will be more stats for August before long.

When we were going through the visa process, CSC was taking about 6 months whereas VSC was about 3 months. Up until the time we filed with CSC, they were kicking out visa approvals in 3 months. Who really knows what goes on

at the service centers and for that matter, at USCIS in general.

The data that you are using for Aug is unreliable... no telling how many people have not gotten around to posting NOA1's

CSC is likely slowing because they know how far ahead of the goal of 5 months they are... nobody pushing them to stay at 90 day approvals... But VSC has been beyond 5 months and is under the gun to get up to speed...

yeah it's interesting how there seems to be something a dead still at CSC right now from NOA1-->2 compared to VSC, although we're still a long way behind.

I think there may be wisdom to this theory, especially given the impending close of the federal fiscal year (September 30). Perhaps they've put the brakes on CSC in order to free up background check processing capacity so VSC can clear its backlogs enough to be able to claim it's meeting its statutory 5-month goal as of September 30.

Improved USCIS Form G-325A (Biographic Information)

Form field input font changed to allow entry of dates in the specified format and to provide more space for addresses and employment history. This is the 6/12/09 version of the form; the current version is 8/8/11, but previous versions are accepted per the USCIS forms page.

Side topic:

I-129F's sent vs. NOA1's

Yes the data may be unreliable, but it's not my data, so here I'm going by "Igor's List."

As that's what people have reported up to now, naturally that's all we can go by,

lacking the ability to hack into USCIS computers.

As of today, for August I-129F filers, the percentage of NOA1's vs. I-129F's sent for the month:

California: 43 NOA1's/57 I-129F's = 75%

Vermont: 37 NOA1's/55 I-129F's = 67% Again, VT seems to be lagging slightly.

As of today, for July I-129F filers:

California: 47 NOA1's/64 I-129F's = 73%

Vermont: 71 NOA1's/75 I-129F's = 95% No lag there, so what do we know?

The number of applications for August appears to be fewer than the previous month, but naturally

these numbers are incomplete so we would expect them to increase. Only time will tell if they will

approach July's numbers. (Lower numbers might work in our favor, making the workload at both

centers lighter).

The stats for the times between NOA1 and NOA2 may be more interesting.

The amount of work required to crank out the NOA2 is most likely in proportion to the greater waiting time.

I'm not attempting to draw any conclusions yet, but maybe more expierenced members may have some.
