I see that the first October filer has been approved. Great for them......but I'm about to cry!! :crying: The only hope I am clinging to is that I have an extremely common last name and the name checks are taking forever! This "anxiety diet" is great for the figure, but it reeks havoc on the ability to sleep at night!! Any good wishes would be heartily appreciated.

My wife has been very worried about her and my daughter not being approved when so many else from September were approved. I called this morning and asked that my call be escalated so I could speak with an immigration officer, she said nothing to worry about and about 2 hours later we got the email for both of them ..

Current Status: Card production ordered.

So I called the National Customer Service line today as there are a bunch a people who filed after us that have been approved, looks like I'm the only California September filer left. I was told these cases can take up to a year and if I haven't heard from them in 6 months to call back. My application hasn't been touched since October 26th and I'm really getting nervous now!!

I'd be interested to know how you got to speak to an Immigration Officer CountryBoy as I was told I just had to wait and nobody would be able to tell me anything different from what the first person who dealt with the call could tell me.... is there a super secret pass phrase you have to say get put through? :)

What I don't understand is why you're expecting a touch? Everyone on this forum can attest to the fact that you DO NOT GET touches and just get approved with the touch at the same time: it is not like you will see a touch one day then another one a week later, showing that they are working or something. You will see a touch when there is an action on your file (most probably approval)

Furthermore, dude, come on, you've been waiting for 2.5 months... You are very unlikely to wait a year.... probably going to be approved any time. Don't worry and just wait.

Okay, I know of people who waited for 3 years and still waiting and I also know that their customer support is insanely bad. But let's see what others say.

Though I'm sure your intentions are good, I don't see how you can have any basis for your assurance that I'll probably get approved any time.

No one can assure you of anything with USCIS obviously: all I did was to encourage you: yes, your case could take 3 years too, but very likely that it will take just few weeks more (statistically). I doubt anyone will give you the basis of why your application is taking longer. We all know the stance of USCIS on this: they won't even look at your issue if your case is taking less than 6 months (since that's their goal)

From what I see on this forum it looks quite random: it is probably more like the files come in batches and then they just process them randomly.
