We have an opportunity right now in this country to rebuild our economy around alternative energy exploration, development and production. We're not going to see the kind of economic growth driven by the housing market like before. This is our chance. Other countries are already pushing forward at a much more aggressive pace. Not only could we grow our economy from such industry, but it would lower our dependency on foreign oil which also is a burden to our economy, not to mention a nation security liability.

Computer industry came out with GIGO, garbage in garbage out, except the oil industry had a 125 year start on this. Was really hot on alternate energy sources in the 70's and 80's with that so called energy crisis, congress killed most of it, but we had an oil controlled congress. Problem with the rest of us, we weren't enough of a b@stard so paying the price with super high inflation and perhaps even the collapse of our country. Read and heard this many times, projects like the Hoover Dam and TVA would never happen if started today.

We need SVRT back. Remember the guy who claimed we should easily be able to make electric cars since we have hard drives.

I do wonder whatever happened to that guy.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.
