Hi

Me and my wife have not seen each other for over a year.

Mainly because of my job. Where I'm never home and always work offshore and have no exact dates of being home. Once I'm home I can leave offshore anytime again. Also this entire time I was gonna go back to the USA as soon as I was getting my visa but the unexpected FBI name check which took over 6 months made this separation even longer for us.

So please let me how bad can that affect me at the interview at the end of Sept. All this time we of course talked on the phone everyday and have lots of emails and chat logs to submit.

I doubt it will be an issue, USCIS knows that not every couple can visit every few weeks/months. I'd go prepared with evidence of your relationship and communication in lieu of visiting.

I know how you feel, haven't seen my wife in 10 months. With all the paperwork, waiting on NVC, jobs and the like it is a little unrealistic if immigration expects us to fly around the world every few months...unless of course USCIS wishes to pay for my flights.. in which case I would go every month Hang in there Azer..nothing lasts forever..except waiting for NVC..

If the OP is talking about the visa interview, that will be at the embassy/consulate, which is part of the Department of State (vs. USCIS, which is Homeland Security). Without knowing how particular the OP's consulate is regarding time together, I recommend that the OP procure a letter from his employer in which the OP's demanding career schedule is clearly explained. That letter can be taken to the interview along with the examples of ongoing communication.

Are you talking on phone or computer? If phone, I would also provide phone bills. I know each situation is different but the only relationship evidence they looked at was a couple photos. I had taken emails and bills etc. highlighting hubby's number. They would understand that flying across the world on a regular basis is not realistic plus couples do not anticipate this kind of wait (at least I didn't) when they first apply for visa. We hold off thinking its going to be over soon.
