Brnidokiegurl - I hope you are given the strength to go through this with your mom. Mine is 77 and my dad is 79 so I know it's around the corner but whenever I try to picture it I can't see how I'd react, i.e. whether I'll be the strong one or whether I'll be the one constantly sobbing and falling apart.

Last night was the first time that I had to wait up for both daughters. They both had a batmitzvah to go to and I picked up my youngest at 11pm! She came home, had some water and went straight to bed. The oldest had a sleepover thank God 'cause the shuttle didn't get back to our town until after midnight. Hers had the ceremony at the temple and then a shuttle took them to the Hard Rock Cafe where the party was. What a life! I don't remember having that much fun when I was their age!

Somehow I need to get motivated to do food shopping since it's back to work for me and back to school for the kids next week.

How much does everyone else spend on back to school supply shopping? I mean strictly supplies they are required to bring in...not clothes, etc. Between the two kids I think I spent around $320! I think this was the most expensive supply list so far.

My daughter is a sounder rock than i am i try, but cave.....BUT time i got down there this morning she was sitting up in her wheelchair. The prob was (gunk) for better word had gathered call asperation due to foods going down the wrong (whatever they go thru) last time this led to phenomia. So last nite they did the suction thing, got her meds going addding some oxygen and she was doing completely better. She was up and went to the dining table to eat with her other friends and actually ate....so i feel we made it thru another day. Sorry for what some of you mena members are going through lately. It really puts my trivial disputes into perspective. (F)

I'm at the library doing homework and getting out of the apartment. Had my first communication issue with my roommate last night. When I arrived she said feel welcome to eat such and such and drink such and such. We even split the cost of the groceries. So last night I'm working on this bag of chips that was already worked on prior by her and been sitting there for awhile. I tell her I'm going to finish it and she gets upset and says "Could you not!" I said but there is this little bit left and she still insisted I not finish it. So I said well I can buy you another bag tomorrow but she didn't like that answer either so I stopped eating them folded them up and put them back. Then I said, "I'm sorry it's just the first day you said help yourself to whatever but I guess what you really meant was you may try something but don't finish it all." She said yes that's what she meant really. So I said, "Ok well now I know." Anyways it was very awkward and tense afterwords and I had restless sleep after that because now I wonder what else that she said I could help myself to that I can't really use? She said I could drive here car anytime I wanted but now I don't think I should ever ask her. She said I could use her desktop computer as much as I wanted and I'm even paying half the internet and cable for it but now I'm not so sure it's a good idea. Where is the line defined and how is it going to be when my Husband gets here? Anyways its just for a couple of months so I guess I'll try to keep things as independent and separate as possible.

Salaam-

Spent the weekend with my dad's family- My grandma turned 88 last week and we had some of my relatives up for vacation- so what better excuse for a party! Of course, I am fasting, but it really wasn't that bad. The fact that they were serving pork ribs and sausage/sauerkraut helped me out a bit! ha! Today we all met up at my grandma's for the traditional Sunday morning waffles- which I just got to whiff at. ha ha. I did take some home to put in the toaster tomorrow morning. All in all, it was fun. I get so lonely here at the house, it was nice to get out and enjoy family. Grandma is making me dinner Tuesday.

Prayers to everyone going through something right now. (anyone left out? if so, prayer for u 2!) (F)

Happy 88th birthday grandma!

ah. the longing....
