I was told my request for expedited process was approved. My case was immediately sent out from NVC. What will happen next? Are they extremely fast when it comes to a medical situation?????

Things really start happening fast when your case leaves NVC.

Any tips for the rest of us on how to get expedited service?

Congratz!

yes in fact I wrote attention supervisor Sue,

I then explained my situation with our case pending back ground checks for over two years. My wife is currently pregnant and due in November. I explained in the request for expedite service if my wife could be here before we have the child? I explained this process has been very difficult for our family already. The request was approved 5 days later, August 25.

Once your case is expedited at NVC, you will be sending all the required documents directly to the consulate in the country of the benefitiary...if you already sent anything to NVC that will be forwarded to the consulate as well. Usually when the consulate gets the case from NVC they will contact you with instructions.

Hmm, so that's the secret for getting an expedited NOA2 - get pregnant? LOL. Congratulations on this expedited step - hopefully you'll have your interview and visa within a month. I guess the downside is that you have already been struggling for two years as a married couple to get to the US. Dora and I considred getting married first, but from all that I have gleaned from VJ and others in your situation, it seems it takes longer for the foreign spouse to get to the US if you are already married (at least for Colombianos). So, we are going the K1 route, but since we don't want kids, the pregnancy route would not be a viable "expediting" technique. Good luck!

5/20/08 Met through a mutual friend in Medellin

7/25/09 11th Visit Met in Panama

9/19/09 12th Visit Met in Medellin for Dial Del Amor y Amistad

6/23-7/21 Gathered paperwork and applied for I-129F 7/24/09 USCIS acknowledges Receipt of I-129F application NOA1

9/28/09 NOA2 received!!! Only 66 days! 10/02/09 NSC Received and completed Application and sent to Bogota

10/02/09 Embassy received application (my lawyer is two weeks behind informing me - time line information learned on 10/15/09)

10/09/09 Embassy sent out Package 3 10/15/09 Package 3 not received - downloaded forms from website.

10/16/09 Submitted DS-2100 and Ds-230 to apply for interview date. 10/23/09 Received Interview date (had to call DOS)

12/09/09 Interview - VISA GRANTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think the best answer is to just try file the expedite request. I had to wait until I was at the NVC first. My wife is due in November. Our case also has been pending since may 19, 2007. Our request was approved last week. Our paper work was sent to Bogota already.
