Alright guys. I need some help. I have completed my G-325A & asked my mother to look over it.

I have my current job listed from 12/2008 - present & before that I typed in unemployed.

She says I should write student, but how would I date that? I've been a student since 1999 & am still a student & I'm going to be a student for quite a few more years.

Is unemployed okay to leave or should I change it to student?

thanks for any advice.

xx

My kids put student for the times they were students. I know a lot of people say to put "unemployed", because being a student isn't exactly employment. If it makes you feel better you can just attach a sheet with an explanation. I haven't ever heard of anyone having a problem either way. At least the USCIS has an idea of where you were.

How about "Student 1999 to Present?"

Edited to add: The above would be in addition to your '12/2008 to Present" employment. There is no rule that says they both can't be concurrent.
