I'm trying to find out how much the K-1 visa process will cost. I have looked around on this site and I saw $131 dollars...the last time I looked up the cost of this process I needed to send $455 so which one is the right price?

Costs 455$ to apply and 131$ for the interview.. and don't forget the cost of the medical exam before the interview (depends on your country, its 350$ here in canada), cost of any vaccinations, cost of police certificate, cost for at least 5 sets of passport photos.. and that's before your finacee even leaves his/her country:) it all adds up fast

Yeah I was just remembering that as well. What I don't understand is why we give social security and welfare to illegal immigrants and make it very hard for people that are trying to do things legally it really makes me mad...but oh well thats just the way it is I guess.

So I have one more question and that is if I were to get a lawyer to do this are there any suggestions that people may have for me regarding who I should use?

Suggestion about using a lawyer - save your money for the process and follow the guides on this site. That is what most have done successfully without the assistance of an attorney. Some have used attorneys when there were complicated or unusual aspects to their case. As the others have already mentioned, this process is already pricey - but, then again, if you can afford the additional thousands of dollars hopefully someone else will give you a good referral for an attorney. Best of luck.

yea, This whole process is expensive...but Philister makes this all worth it! Thanks for your responses. If you have any other information that might be helpful feel free to let me know every little bit of info helps.

Don't forget to include the cost to AOS. You HAVE to do that to remain in the US, or else they go back after the 90 days is up, even if you do get married.

Improved USCIS Form G-325A (Biographic Information)

Form field input font changed to allow entry of dates in the specified format and to provide more space for addresses and employment history. This is the 6/12/09 version of the form; the current version is 8/8/11, but previous versions are accepted per the USCIS forms page.
