Can I be prevented from entering US?

I hope you end up deferring to your husband's wishes, whatever they are. You may have legal permanent resident status in the US when you are issued your green card, without establishing your physical residence here until later. As to an inheritance, won't it be taxed in France when received? If so, the US will not require you to be taxed twice.

Having the green card will eliminate any worries about not being allowed into the U.S. in the event you are denied entry as a "visitor" due to the approved IR visa. Canadians and Americans are welcomed with open arms at the border but unfortunately Europeans must be treated by different standards. Canada is open to British subjects and also, probably, French citizens.

Hi Guys

it was tough but I got in with Visa Waiver

Thanks God Supervisor at secondary inspection was clear and said no problem

but initially I got put aside with red enveloppe by the first officer

and the officer who stamped at the secondary inspection said it was first time he saw that.

I know it seems odd to you all

but it is perfectly ok

although pretty rare I admit.

I am still working in France and will not cut my ties until end of the year

it is too early for me to activate my GC now

I can activate it until March.

I plan to do so ealry next year

I also plan to come back for thanks giving weekend under VWP
