You need to define the terms for us. There are lots of people I'd consider middle class who consider themselves rich, and vice versa. Also, a household income that is middle class in the NE corridor can be considered rich in Bumbleville, Arkansabama.

Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.

Valid point... according to 2005 Census Bureau numbers (Household Incomes):

28.22% made less than $25,000 a year

26.65% made between $25,001 and $50,000 a year

National Median: $44,389

18.27% made between $50,001 and $75,000 a year

10.93% made between $75,001 and $100,000 a year

15.73% made more than $100,00 a year

After that it's a subjective call about what constitues poor, middle class & rich.

You can't really id poor-middle-rich based on percentiles from a nationwide sample. jmho.

15% may make household income of more than $100k in the nation as a whole but i can promise you it's well over two-thirds in my very middle-class suburb in nj.

I used to live in Long Island & yea 100K makes you at best middle class there.

It is somewhat about perceptions. Most people like to think they are middle class. Rich are those people that make lots more than you do, and poor are those that make lots less than you do.
