I had my medical on Jan 5 & 6 and had my USEM interview on Jan 9.

I'm from Cebu and wanted to save some bucks rather than coming back to head for the interview.

It was kinda stressful but its nice to deal with the stress all in the same week! Hahaha!

Good Luck!

You may also want to consider hotel fees and meals while waiting in Manila versus just flying back home until the interview. My fiancee is from Cebu and it was actually cheaper for her to fly home, then back again versus just staying there until the interview.

The hotels near the clinic and embassy can get costly, then you add your food bill on top of that too.

Just a thought....good luck.

Yes...I agree with the above and learned the hard way how expensive is to stay in MANILA.

Better Flying back and forth then staying there...and the taxis are going to PLUCK you alive, there are trained to spot "NON-Manila residents" a mile away.

example.. a 150 ph ride will sudden become 500 ph, hotels have special rate for non-residents....all lower priced room become fully booked and just the most expensive rooms are left

thanks rockhouse! ^_^ well, I am from iligan, and the nearest airport is in CDO, so i will have to travel to CDO and the taxi going to the airport is expensive! lol plus the plane tickets then taxi to and from the airport in manila will skin me alive lol.. so I would rather stay in Manila.. I do know it can be expensive when adding the food bill, but ive equated all the stuff and it is more expensive for me to to 2 trips for the medical and the interview..

and yes, the hotels can be pricey.. me and my family always go to manila for vacation, that was one of the issues lol.. i had called in the hotel actually and they told me the only vacant ones are the suites, which are $12 more to the standard one.. so, that can be too costly overtime.. thus I really am just trying to figure out a way so I can save money lol. My fiance says it's not a big deal but any way I can save is a BIG help lol ^_^
