Hi I'm RH's fiancee, I'm gonna be flyin to Texas soon if i pass the interview this 2nd of September (this is giving me weird feelings in my guts these days..hehe).. If i do pass, I plan on bringing my Transcripts with me, and I'm wondering if there are stuffs i need to do with it (TOR).. like maybe have it stamped by somebody to be credible. I really don't have any idea.. I dont want to bring my TOR to America then later find out its useless, because i didn't have this done and that.. Any advice or information would be appreciated. Thanks :)

well, yes u bring ur tor... but i think its more good if u will have a red ribbon..... i did it already 3yrs. ago.. so glad don't have problems with my school docs.

DId you get a chance to work in the US and have your credentials evaluated? I have worked in the US as a teacher for 4 years and they told us it is not necessary to have it with red ribbons. It is up to you but this is based on my own experience and that's what they told me in the US embassy too. Im just trying to help but it seems a lot of people here would still want to have that red ribbon. Maybe when you get to the US you would agree that it is NOT necessary.

yes maybe its not... but more prepared is good... maybe for now its not necessary... but we all know that lots of country now are asking for red ribbon.. that's why lots of students here fresh graduate are doin this red ribbon... we dont know what will be in the future.. and having a red ribbon will not harm her...

Me too! I tried having my credentials with red ribbons but hubby told me it's not necessary at all.

They would still let an agency evaluate your credentials if they are equivalent to the US curriculum.

And they would try to get a hold of your schools to have them fill out some forms.

The red ribbons could be just a waste of money.

But it's really up to you.

I had a friend here in PA that is working right now and she didn't had a problem with her transcripts without red ribbons since the employer said it's not necessary.

All they care is that you have an SSN and your valid to work here.

Good Luck!

Many employers will want official transcripts, meaning the transcripts must be sent from the university. If you are planning on working in the education field, or continuing your education, then the transcripts will most likely have to be evaluated. WEN wants 150 USD to evaluate Meryll's transcripts.

But, it is still a good idea to bring your transcripts.

Noodlesweasel has a point, you know. . . I guess the question is where do you plan on working and what are your credentials? I brought my transcripts with me (no red ribbon or authentication or anything), but I really didn't get to use it since my employer did not even ask for it. Maybe my work experience in a similar industry (banking) was enough for them to hire me on the spot.

excuse me, but the purpose of the "red ribbon " is for authenticity as the word implies ; it means that your credentials are authentic , it did not come from C.M. Recto , as you can get it easily for a fee , if you know what I mean?

it would mean more work to be done but then , it is better to be sure .

Nope, that wont really help. As I have said just bring your original transcripts and the accredited agency will evaluate it for you, sometimes they will send a form to your university and have it filled out and the university will send it back to the agency. As I have told you, I have been through this so I can tell you the red ribbons wont help you at all. even at the USEM when I have my BC authenticated with that red ribbon, they said it is NOT necessary.

yes the BC we are submitting to US embassy think dont need a red ribbon.. but need to be printed in a NSO Security paper and i think they have a scanner for identifying if the the docu. is real or fake.... pls. correct me if i am wrong... thank's....

happyme ang pinag uusapan e TRANSCRIPT OF RECORDS and not BC

I agree with noodles  I also have a friend here who submitted her TOR without red ribbon and she got hired. The company who hired her contacted her previous employer there in Pinas though. I think even MC with red ribbon is kinda useless too caz USCIS accepts MC and BC from NSO so for me, the time I wasted going to DFA to authenticate our MC was useless. But anyways, this is just my opinion :)

Hi, the SO from your credential is okay, no need to have that red ribbon, authentication or so, our credentials from our respective schools are valid enough, because of the seal and SO from CHED. I am not working here for now but I did some inqueries on how to be employed here, our TOR should be evaluated here as per equivalent or grade point average here in USA.Agency will do an assessment from your TOR and will match it in the equivalent US Curriculumn. You can contact any registered education evaluators for the evaluation of your transcript like Educational Credential Evaluators(ECE).

Good luck and God bless!

Greetings!

Just bring your origina copy of the ff:

1. T.O.R.

2. High School Diploma

3. College Diploma

and send it any member of NACES for evaluation, this is when you wanted to use for furthr studies or just wanted to have its US equivalence.

Educational Credential Evaluators, Inc. is one example.

p.s. no need of red ribbon to have it evaluated.

I brought ALL my credentials too just in case my employers would like to see it.

And it will be less hassle for my family in PI to send my credentials to me so that's why I brought it with me.

But I think it's not really necessary. After all, they would still send you to an agency to have your credentials evaluated to see if it matches the US curriculum.

Please correct me if I'm wrong. :D

What's not necessary? My transcripts?? or having it internationalized??.. What does 'having it internationalized' mean anyway..hehe.. I'm sorry, I'm a lil confused. :help:

Me too. What's internationalized transcript. My employer didn't even bother to look at my transcripts of records. It's useless here I guess.

Hokey Smoke!

Rocky: "Baby, are they still mad at us on VJ?"

Bullwinkle: "No, they are just confused."
