Unfortunately, we are still waiting for my wife's Green Card... It's been over 5 weeks since we submitted the requested documents to the Los Angeles AOS Unit and have received no response. They requested police clearance letters because my wife's fingerprints could not be processed and all foreign documents be translated by a "certified notary" at our interview on 01/19/10. By the way, the agent did not take her I-94 at the interview, but she told us that it takes 4-6 weeks for the Green Card after we submitted the requested documentation. So, we left the interview feeling fairly positive and worked as fast as we could to get the clearance letters which wasn't that easy because the LAPD directs you to contact the California DOJ. The CA DOJ requires you to provide live fingerprint scans and we had to submit those twice. My wife had no negative records in any of her police clearance letters. Anyways, the online case status says "Initial Review" so that's no help.

When would others recommend that we request an InfoPass appointment with the Los Angeles USCIS? After 6 weeks? The paperwork from the L.A. USCIS says "you may inquire about your case no sooner than 180 days after the date of this notice(1/19/10) or the time period indicated"(???).

I am happy to report that the online case status now says "Document production or Oath Ceremony" as March 30, 2010! Almost right at 6 weeks!
