Yes, I did come on K-1 and I do find it crazy, but the results of the medical should have reached them and they clearly somehow didn't. Doctors in london don't keep a copy and the woman at the other end of a $16 embassy phone call said it's unlikely they keep a copy too, and I should email but it could take up to 5 days for a reply. I don't have the time to waste so I'm just sucking up the loss and trying to get it back to them before 30th.

Congrats Gemmie :dance::dance:

We were approved at our interview too! yay!!! We can relax & enjoy Christmas now. :dance::dance::dance:

Interview was easy easy!..We were just asked for both our passports, my I-94, both our ID cards. Then just a few questions on how we met & how our relationship developed. She then asked for our joint bank statements & joint car insurance. We answered all the terrorist, prostitution, drugs etc questions & then that was it! No photos, emails, letters or anything like that was asked for. She said that that was secondary evidence. The whole thing took 10 mins.

Just to let anyone know who interviews in Detroit, when you park your car remove all valuables from view as it's not a very safe area of the city. When we returned from our interview, the SUV near us had the passenger window smashed, right in front of the security cameras too!!! Looks like someone maybe left their GPS in there. I was panicking because we left out 12 week old labrador puppy in ours. I thought someone may have taken her too! But she was still there wagging her tail :-)

$450?? Wow... probably that includes all the vaccinations she thinks you need. I paid $230 for my medical here in Charlotte, inclusive of the Tdap shot that I was missing and the TB Skin Test.

Cheers..

Just got back from infopass in Charlotte. The woman took a few minutes reading through the RFE and confirmed that I do infact need the full medical. Already have an appointment booked for next monday which is the soonest they have. The receptionist said it could cost up to $450 although she has never seen anyone's that high before, and results take typically 2-3 days.

Hi everyooonnnee!! We got the interview today, took two hours to the uscis office, and the questions were mostly the same as MonkeyJuice's interview. But we have to get Td vaccine, thanks to God they give us time 60 days to get that because we will leave tomorrow for my country for church wedding ceremony and party. They said we will receive the card in about two weeks. It is time to pack for traveling tomorrow, we will be home on the New Year. God bless us here always!! ^_^

Ah Freyja, I feel your pain, we went through the same thing when doing the K-1...everyone else was getting approvals after 60 days and we were nearly 2 months behind for no apparent reason :(

I really hope they have some good news for you soon--what a wonderful Christmas gift that would be for you guys! I have you, along with everyone else still waiting, in my thoughts and prayers for a quick response. Would love to see our thread be finished up by the end of December!!

Good luck to those still waiting and congrats to the handful recently approved!

Approved! We completed our interview this morning. The interview was quick and efficient, but we started about 30 mins after our scheduled time. The officer first interviewed my spouse (petitioner) individually and then invited me to join in about 10 mins. The officer asked my spouse questions about how we met and how we celebrated my birthday (which was a couple of days ago) and then looked at some of the documentation supporting our relationship (tax forms, bank accounts, insurance forms). Then she invited me in and asked me how we met and what we did for my birthday. She then reviewed my answers on the I-485 with me, mentioned that she was approving me and took away my I-94. She mentioned that I will get my card within 3 weeks and if I needed to travel before that due to an emergency then I could return to the office to get a I-551 stamp.

The whole process took about 30 mins and was quite painless.

I wish the others on this forum a speedy approval.

Congratulations!

Sorry to hear about the medical, Martin... I think you're doing the right thing by just booking another one quickly.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for those of you waiting. Just remember that your time will come very soon. I didn't believe it a week ago as we hadn't even been touched in about 8 weeks, but now I've received an email saying they've mailed a welcome letter to me already. The same will happen for you. :thumbs:
