Hello, I was just reading through the contents of packet 3:

Packet 3 contents:

DS-230-I Part I

DS-156 x2 (Full out online to generate barcode http://www.usembassy.org.uk/cons_new/visa/...electronic.html - Add photo to each, do not sign)

DS-156K (Do not sign)

DS-157 (Male only)

IV-15 Checklist

Information on how to book your medical

And was wondering if the foreign fiancé intends to stay in the US, do they still have to file both DS-230-1 part one (immigration visa and alien registration) as well as the DS-156K/DS157 which appear to be for non-immigrant fiance visa applications?

The K1 is a non-immigrant visa.

I suggest that you go ahead and submit all the required documents. That will save you the time and frustration of responsonding to RFE's.
