I sent an email to the embassy yesterday to inquire about how long it would take to issue Hachemi's visa and got this response this morning. I like it a lot. :yes:

Dear Madam,

Thank you for your message. We just received a response from the Department of State. Your fiancé will get his visa for sure next week. Thanks,

Sept 17-Oct 3, 2005 Noura goes to Morocco to meet family & friends of Said (informally engaged)

Daily phonecalls, discover internet chatting w/ video cam - OMG!!!

March 25-April 14, 2006 Noura's 2nd trip to Morocco - formal engagement w/ family

April 24, 2006- mailed in K1 Visa package - TSC

Oct 5, 2006 - Interview SUCCESS

Oct 12, 2006 - Called to pick up visa tomorrow!

Oct. 16, 2006 VISA IN HAND!

Dec. 24, 2006 - Said arrives in NOLA, just in time for the holidaze!

Dec. 31, 2006 - OUR WEDDING!!! Ringing in a New Year as husband & wife!

Jan 8, 2007 - applied for SSN

Jan 15, 2007 - recieved SSN

Feb 6, 2007 - checks cashed for AOS/EAD/AP - YAY!

Feb 8, 2007 - NOA1 on AOS/EAD/AP

Feb 14, 07 - touched EAD/AP

March 8, 07 - Biometrics appt in NOLA

April 17, 07 - AP approved

April 19, 07 - EAD approved

Congrats Meriem!

This is interesting to me... it seems like Algiers is very different from Casa... when they do a security check at Casa they issue the 221g and leave you hangin but in Angeria they say it's approved then tell you a week or so and then do the check at DOS. I think I prefer the way Algeria does it, it sounds like they communicate with people better.

Sometime in 2008 - Received 10 year GC. Almost done with USCIS for life inshaAllah! Huzzah!

06/15/09 - Citizenship interview

07/15/09 - Citizenship ceremony. Alhamdulilah, the US now has another american muslim!

He is afraid to make any kind of plans for a flight until he has the visa in hand. As soon as gets it, he says he is coming as soon as possible. Several months ago Hachemi started remodeling a store his father owns to put his business in. In the mean time he worked at a cyber for a friend. It turned out so much work had to done on the building's roof and it took longer than he thought. Anyway, the remodeling is done and the shop is ready to open, just in time for him to come the USA. He said he will turn it over to his father now. :yes:

03/09/09 - NOA received in mail

06/04/09 - called Customer Service - in regards to not receiving bio appointment

06/13/09 - received letter in regards to my inquiry to Customer Service - stating husband had recently missed biometric appointment (never received a notice in mail) - going to be rescheduled - letter dated 06/05/09

06/17/09 - received Notice for biometrics appointment - dated 06/12/09

06/26/09 - Biometrics Appointment - St. Albans, VT

08/20/09 - Received Interview Appointment Letter

10/05/09 - Interview - Albany, NY- PASSED

10/23/09 - Oath Ceremony - Fort Edward, NY

01/28/10 - applied for US Passport
