evenin ladies; the school thing hits close to home I look at it this way, you can survive in Jamaica, but when you have EDUCATION on your side you're open to a world of opportunities. I've seen the good and the bad side of the EDUCATION reform and this has been going on for many...many years.

The school that my aunts runs out of her house will not keep any children in her program if parents are not fully commited to the program as well. The parents have to meet with her once a month so go over their child's progress.

Lawny..that is our thought as well..we need involved parents or this will not prosper

Exactly; I'll tell you, I want u to meet my dad one day. He stopped going to school at the age of 10 to learn a trade and put 4 of his younger siblings through school who all finished and ended up at universities in the states and England. He never put his book down though. I wish kids had that drive today. So, my dad talks to a lot of these parents back home and told them you have to do the best for your child.

I love my daddy with all my heart, his my mentor and my HERO. He made sure my brother and I had the best education we could when we lived in Jamaica. Even if it met for him to drive trucks from Negril to Kingston on the weekends in addition to running a mechanic business.

Yes, it would be and I'd be in the front row with a big GRIN from ear to ear on my face

soooooooo, found out a few months ago that my husband use to be a caddy in Jamaica and play golf (boring) very well. Well, today once of the VPs from his old job invited him to play golf with them and wouldn't you know it, they thought my husband was there to be their caddy. His old boss quickly put them in their place and the looks on their faces were priceless (damn brite)...hubby and his old boss kicked their butts kept giving each other high fives...another round of golf tomorrow...so, his old boss drops him off and here him; LIKKLE MORE MI FREN I busted out laughing...oh, he got the Jamaican greeting down to a pack now.
