I need some suggestions... Tierra has decided she wants me to send her with lunch somedays. Days when she doesnt like anything on the school menu. Now here is the issue.... SHE IS SO FREAKIN' PICKY. You couldn't tell by looking at a picture of her but she does not eat a variety of food.

She doesnt want pb&j. No cheese, no meats really. (I may be able to sneak a salami & mayo once in a while).

She likes bread... And I cannot send her to school with a mayo sandwich!! She wont eat ANY veggies!!! So fruit it is, but there must be something else.

Can anyone give me an idea? She can eat meat if she wants, I don't tell her no. But there isnt much she likes.

Fruit Salad and crackers!! LOL

I saw that too. Wonder how it would ship across the country from RI to CA....hmmm.... Lehi often talks about opening his own Jamaican restaurant some day. It sure would be nice to have a supplier for the ingredients that are hard to find here....like ackee, breadfruit, etc. I was thinking if only we could just grow our own trees that would solve a lot of the problem. But here in SF it won't work since I rent & my parents property gets too cold in the winter. I wonder if they have seasonal greenhouses that could cover entire trees!

What would she pack if it was left to her? Does she like spaghetti? You could blend up zucchini, carrots & other stuff in a pre-made sauce to fool her into eating her veggies & pack containers of spaghetti w/sauce. I don't know what I'd do if I had a picky eater....I think the kid would go hungry until they decided to try something (I say this now while I'm not a parent...lol).

She wont even eat tomatoe sauce. So there is no point trying to "hide" anything in it. LOL

Pasta... with butter & salt. Thats it. I wonder if she would eat that cold. ew.

I think I will have to figure out 1 standard lunch choice. So if she doesn't like the school menu it's "mom's choice" and thats it. Then maybe she will think twice about the options at school.

sus; damn the guys from MIGHTY CROWN got old. I remember when they first came out, everyone was like "What di hell"...den when they start with the patwah on the mic mi nearli dead

Lawny, ((((Big HUG))))

I am so glad you had a wonderful time you surely were missed!

Where my ackee deh LOL we soon run out and Hubby said he cyaa manage the tin ackee :help:

tin ackee give me the "runs" I have to soak them in salt then wash dem good. I still hate the taste. We had so much ackee in the backyard, but because of the drought they were not ready...it just grieve mi...my dad made sure when he was in his earli 20s he took care of the tree that his dad planted. We use to sell fruits and veggies, if our crop was could, we would just give it away. My dad would leave bags or baskets of mangoes, breadfruit, ackee, guava, lime, pear, starapple, rea apples at his gate. He always says to share and it will be returned to you.

Oh Lawd Tre, I neva have a problem wid tin ackee, I love ackee so much I never mind at all.

We have a mango tree at our house but when we go back we are going to plant up! I love that your Father would leave basket for at the gate that is really selfless and beautiful! You are right when you share it will be returned to you!

I had a tiny ackee tree here in Philly it died my green thumb couldn't save it :crying: :crying:

I love ackee. I've never had problems bringing them back. I don't boil them anymore, just pick them and oil them then freeze. The customs officer joked and asked if I was opening a store in Silver Spring

Afternoon everyone!

Will she eat basil like in pesto? (Probably not.) If she did, you could make a cold pasta salad kinda thing & send her off with that & fruit. What did she eat in St. Lucia?

Nope.. but I will! LOL

In St Lucia. Fish, fruit.. (she loooves mangos). We would go to a couple different restaurants on my pay day. Thai and Chinese. She likes chicken satay (without the peanut sauce) and of course Chicken Terryaki! So basically 2 versions of "chicken on a stick". Oh and pizza of course. We always made our own pizza.

I wish they had a microwave at school. She could bring food and heat it up.
