Alwayswin-Yes, I did get your PM...But I was having problems with my VJ PM lately (it keeps on showing up "page cannot be found", or something along those lines, when I try to "reply"), so I couldn't reply to your message that way, so I'll reply to your message here instead...

Hi Alwayswin,

Thank you for your very helpful reply and congratulations on getting your passport book and card too...

And thanks too, for detailing your passport application experience in Buffalo, NY. It doesn't sound too hard at all, to reply for a passport at the post office. And I'm surprised too, that you got it so quickly too, despite not having travelling plans. Wow! Hmmm..makes me re-think about applying for a passport. However, the issues that concern me that you brought up are 1) The passport agency/office bases the address to mail the certificate in with the driver's license address (which is my physical address where my house is). For me, that address is different from my mailing address (which is my mailbox address), so I'm kind of conerned about my passport and naturalization not getting to me that way. I could enclose the notarized letter explaining of such though, so maybe that would help there..I don't know...But the risk of loss..Hmm... 2) The naturalization certificate came back with a crease...Oh my gosh! It was lucky for you that it was only a crease...But what if it would have gotten damaged or ripped...Yikes....My mailbox is big enough (it's one of those big rural plastic ones). But if it doesn't fit in there, or gets damaged..oh boy..I'm not going to be too happy with that one..And to drive to pick it up at the post office is another 20 miles away...Hmm...Not sure...On the bright side, at least they didn't lose it, so I can feel more relived about that..

Overall, I see pros and cons of applying for a passport in my case...Will think about it further later on down the road, again, and yes, what you said helped too, especially coming from someone "local", as there aren't too many of us from the Buffalo, NY and area here on VJ....So thanks again...

Meanwhile, I still have my EDL, so that's good enough for now, I guess....Until I decide further about the passport thing....

Thanks Ant. I'm not sure whether the passport office bases the address to mail the certificate in with the driver's license address or it is just required by the postoffice for identity purposes so you'll have to check about that with the postoffice.
