AUGUST I-130 PETITIONS!!

That is just sad. Really. I think there is a foundation for people with really bad names (and if not there should be!) :rofl:

I should start it up!

I decided when my hubby gets his visa that I'll actually put a picture of us in that box thingie and tell everyone my "other" name!!!!

Well for now it's Mrs. Finn Love Other Name.

I was being all cautious and then David mentioned my name and I his and it just snowballed. I figure as long as I dont list last name or bank acct I am pretty safe.

ha! But what about your SSN? :jest:

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

No you're not alone. We are a bunch of strangers from all over the world thrown together by the same desire. To live the rest of our lives with the people we fell in love with against all odds. Love knows no boundaries or borders. We are willing to jump through whatever hoops and whatever fees the US government throws at us because it is meant to be. It is made difficult for us because of the few people who abuse the system and fake it to get a green card and live the American dream. But to those of us who are truly in love and just want to be together, it doesn't matter where we live that life. On the moon would do but it just happens to be that it is easier in the United States of America so that is where we strive to be. I love the time I have spent in America. It is probably the greatest nation on earth. It has so much to do and so much to see and so much to offer but the best thing about the time I have spent in America is that I have spent it with my wife. That is what makes it so special not the place but the company I keep and the chance to live a normal everyday comfortable existance with the woman i just happened to fall in love with.

I'm not a skinny minnie to begin with so I worry. I have been having the comfort food (home made mac n cheese and ice cream). So not good. :blush: I am so missing him lately. It stinks. :crying:

well...i'm not either :whistle: but my hubby said my weight is not an issue right now he's in it for "love" not "like" :wub: man i love him

I eat an entire Dairy Milk chocolate bar daily to beat the stress. Haha. Luckily for me, I am already married.

Dairy Milk chocolate is very addictive :innocent:

No way, it's gotta be dark chocolate! Bittersweet. The darker the better. Ooh now I want some. We still have Halloween candy but I made sure to buy stuff I dont like so I wont eat it!

I won't be stealing your dark chocolate! I didn't know you got Dairy Milk over there. Wow. I'm definitely coming now. I was in 2 minds till I heard you had Dairy Milk! :dance:

I'm not a skinny minnie by any means either... I'm just uh, big boned... yeah, that's it. :innocent: For me this weekend it was a huge bag of Doritos that my neighbor left here Friday night. We had a girls night in watching movies (Harry Potter) and pigging out. Yep, I just polished that huge bag off.... I really need to get to the gym tomorrow, it really helps me deal with the stress. Plus, I need to fit into my wedding dress again in 24 days for our renewal of vows in the Dominican Republic.... :whistle: 16 days on the beach with my honey and I'm sooo not in bathing suit shape... oh well...

Ooh 2 weeks in the sun! That sounds like heaven just now. Of course if we went to an island for two weeks David would spontaneously combust. I married a pale blue Scottish person. He warms up to pink then gets really crispy when he forgets sunblock which is like every time we go anyplace sunny. There isn't much sun over there so he forgets it burns!:rofl:

I keep thinking I'm in shape...round is a shape... :devil: ...I need to fond some other way to calm my nerves.

It sure does sound like heaven. I'm not going to want to come back... I married a very pasty white Canadian with blonde hair who will burn, then peel and still be pasty white. He likes to hide in the shade most of the time.. I'll have to make sure I have extra-super-duper sunscreen for him....

hmm I wonder if CVS carries extrapsuper-duper sunscreen.... :rofl:

We are getting together for Thanksgiving but his mum is coming so it won't be a romantic visit. I want her to see where her wee boy will be living.

:rofl: I think they do. What a great store! How nice that his mum is coming! It may not be a romantic visit, but you can still have time together which is nice.

When we began dating I assumed 3-4 times a yr would be enough visits. We actually see each other more like every 6-8 weeks. Even at that it is not near enough. I just miss him every moment. He is the love of my life. He is my whole world.

Nope, and I'm glad. They travel too much and have a high rate of divorce!

Yay Ms. Sheka!

Whoa. The computer is spinning. I just saw that dumb Paranormal Activity movie and it's making me totally sick typing this.

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

Rest is on my timeline!
