Abbie, how are things going over there? Did the typhoon (the 2nd one) affect you at all? PS And good evening!!!!

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

hi finn, the 2nd typhoon didn't affect us at all. it just rained very little in manila. the northern part of the country was affected though. last i heard it's still here in the country :(

He finally made it last night. It took an hour to get through POE but it was nothing to do with our visa app. It really seemed they dont know about it. They were asking about his passport as he had his luggage,leather jacket and passport stolen out of my car when we stopped for a meal on the way backk form the airport the night we got engaged. It was only pure luck he didnt have the ring in the bag as well!

I was in a near panic as I noticed no one else coming off plane and it had been well, over an hour. I finally made my way to customs where I was told that no information about a passenger could be given out even to a spouse!

Last night was a whirlwind and today is stinky cos I am at work! But he knew my schedule when he came over. We are meeting for lunch in a couple hours. He is insane and trying to walk the 8 1/2 miles from my home to my work!

Ms. Sheka, I really hope you get your news today. :)

We still have no hard copy of the NOA2 and no NVC number. Whenever I call it is busy!

Hope all of you have a terrific week. I'm thinking we wont be on here much as we only have 9 days and plan to make the most of it.

My parents are coming for supper later.

diane: yeah stay off VJ!! lol enjoy your time together you guys. don't we girls feel really special when our men do things like this? i giggle inside like a high school girl :blush: i remember when jeremy came to see me last year. he didn't wanna be left alone in his hotel room. he wouldn't hear of it. and just like with diane's guy, he knew my schedule. but jeremy insisted to come to work with me!!! and he did. i had to talk to the HR head and ask for a consideration lol he came to work with me for 3 days!! i couldn't concentrate :whistle: :whistle:

Sorry guys. I have been busy running around making last minute preparations before my trip down to Peru on Wednesday. Since I worked lots of overtime to use as comp time, I haven't had a whole bunch of time. And whatever time I did have, VJ seemed to suck away :)

This is your MsSheka. Don't you dare make me go to Peru without seeing your approval... that would just be rude of you :)

David left an hour ago and I will be getting him at the airport tonight. We only have a week and a half but it's better than last month when I went to Scotland for a long weekend! :innocent:

I am just praying for a sympathetic POE agent and not someone in the midst of a divorce , hating to see happy couples. :blink:

He has a ton of proof he has to go back including a round trip ticket for next month when he brings mum over for a visit.
