Abbie-just read your news and I'm soooo excited for you! Congrats! Don't panic. You have some time-it's taking a little bit longer (I read) to get the case # from NVC because they're overloaded or something. Yay! Our #1 August girl is good to go!!!!!!

PS Mal-the kayak trip was great! The weather just keeps staying nice-so weird that it's almost October. Feels like July still!

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

Rest is on my timeline!

argh i know huh! i gotta start with all the police clearances. i read somewhere that it should be from places where i lived for more than 6 months after the age of 16... 17 years old onwards right? i am asking cos i went to manila when i was 17 to go to university. 16 i was still living with my parents in the province (country area) this is waay down south like an hour plane ride away :(

abbie you be safe dear and be sure you eat remember you have to be in the best of health for your medical

thanks MsSheka, that's what i did when i got home last night  but i am still tired physically. we had to clean house today cos flood water got inside the house. yesterday my mom carried the fridge and put it on top of the bed all by her 60 year old self :) adrenaline rush :) my bro wasn't there to help her cos he drove the car and parked it some place high so it wouldn't drown or get carried away by the strong flood water current. he couldn't go back and help cos the water was waist deep in seconds. he was afraid he wouldn't be able to fight the current and drown. i am going off topic again. sorry

Congrats Lance! Abbie, be careful-I read about the storm (typhoon??) online last night.

For those of you eager to move up on Igors List, well, Igors List is screwed up anyway. If you check the profiles of people who haven't been approved months and months ago and look at when they were last seen, some haven't been on since around the time they signed up! So they're probably approved but just don't get on VJ. Same with one person who has the same NOA1 date as me-hasn't been seen since 9/21. So Mark, maybe we're way up on the list already! :)

Things will start moving again this week-I feel it!

Our timeline:

Timeline

This February it will be 22 years since I met the love of my life at a random youth hostel in Sydney, Australia. We were so young, right out of college, and the timing was off. I like to think that maybe it wouldn't have worked when we were 23/24 years old, plus I never would have had my amazing and beautiful daughter if I hadn't married someone else. Lucky we were both single when I decided to Google him last year. I didn't know if he got married (he never did), he didn't know I got divorced (which happened three years prior to finding him again). We felt so much love for each other just through emails and phone calls. It was scary when I decided to visit him a month later, knowing it was either going to be real good or not work and the feelings weren't real. It took 24 hours for me to get to him, and I was either super excited on the planes or about to barf with nervousness! The second we saw each other at the airport, we knew for sure we were madly in love and going to marry each other-FINALLY! We never have had a moment of awkwardness or being uncomfortable around each other. I love him with all my heart. I don't usually go on and on about personal stuff and emotions, but I'm in one of those moods right now! And hey, we're all on VJ for love...

Anyway, it's fun to do this in our mid-40s. We're like teenagers! And of course we're much older and wiser... ;)

This morning I woke up just feeling cruddy and down about all this immigration stuff. I called him early and he made me feel so much better just by talking to me!

A little while ago I just received a text from "358-42." I read it. I called my Finn Man so he could be on the phone with me when I tried to figure things out. I opened up an email I had just received while he was on the phone.

Here's a hint:

:wow::thumbs::dancing::dancing:(L):dance::yes::)

We were approved on 9/25!

I am confused. Are we August or July filers? We married and filed in July so I thought it made sense to assume we are in the July bunch but we got the NOA1 in August so hubby says it is August.

Maybe I am getting all distressed as we keep getting passed over on the July thread when we really belong over here!

I just know I see people's filing dates and we filed before a lot of couples who already got thier approvals so it is making me very woried. I dont think I;ve slept much this week at all.
