I'm trying to get my stuff together too but I'm still REALLY confused whether I need a co-sponsor or not. Like I said before, I fall about $4,000 short on my salary alone but I do own a house so I think I wouldn't need a co-sponsor but I still don't know. :(

How much equity in the house??

Hi Everyone!

I am an August filer, so I am new to VJ.

I just wanted to join the discussion because I feel like how most of you guys sound in this forum.

This waiting is killing me, but at the same time, guess thats all we can do :-/

I sent in my I-130 packet on the 25th of August and received my NOA1 on the 2nd of September. Now I am hoping all of us August filers will have a decent approval time thats on par with VJ's timeline.

That would be nice. My real concern is once all of that happens, dealing with the crappy US Embassy in Bangladesh :-(

Still waiting, too. But Igor shows a 09/10 approval of a 07/23 NOA1 date. Closer still!!

Wow! That only took them seven weeks! I'm going to be really going crazy 3 1/2 weeks from now...

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

Rest is on my timeline!

Don't set yourself up for a major letdown, Finn. Please remember that CSC is officially processing March files still.

Oh, I won't. We're still trying to get our paperwork together anyway. Sometimes I'm so busy that I forget to check the USCIS website for a status! I guess it's good I'm crazy busy!!!! Plus...I have way too much work to do on my house before the hubby gets here!

Even if they do have an "official" 5 month processing time, I got word from the inside that they are "typically processing I-130s in 30 to 60 days" (this was from an adjudication supervisor). If I am still waiting come December or January, I will literally be coming apart at the seams (yes, I do indeed resemble a Raggedy Andy doll... thanks for asking). :)

No so I checked on the USCIS website and this is what I found out

If the office is processing a particular type of application in less time than our processing goal, you will see the processing times expressed in months (for example, if the office is processing naturalization applications in less than our 5 month goal, the processing time will state “Five Months”). However, if that office is taking longer than our processing goal to handle the form type in question, you will see the filing date (e.g., “April 10, 2003”) of the last case we processed on the date the website chart was last updated. The charts are updated on or about the 15th day of each month.

Around $27,000.

Just in case I do need a co-sponsor, my uncle is willing to help. He does not live with me. He has a wife and 2 kids. Now, would he have to add my wife for the AOS like I do? So his household would go from 4 to 5 for the AOS?
