Yes, keep your hair in! Remember we all only applied just a month ago or less. It would be amazing if we got approved this fast, but that's not the norm. Give it another month before you even think about worrying! I just checked to see if I was "touched" today and I admit I gave a big sigh when I saw nothing, but I keep reminding myself that my NOA1 was only approved three weeks ago tomorrow. I'm not expecting anything until at least October, though of course I'd be thrilled to pieces to see something before! Too bad we all didn't live in the same area and could get together and fret in one group! Lucky we have this thread going...

Keep busy. That's what keeps me sane. We'll hear good news before we know it!

Hey Mark, I just ordered my tax transcripts! If you haven't done so yet and want them faxed to work, call them from a cell. You physically have to stand there with them on the line when the fax comes thru. I called from my work desk line and the fax machine is about five miles away down the hall (ha!), so they're mailing mine to me. No rush, since we're not at that stage yet.

lol. This is my second go around with immigration (I immigrated to Canada, now I'm dragging hubby south). I STILL get, "So.. you're a citizen in Canada now, right?" NO!!!! I'm a PR, dammit. And still, I get the same now going south. "Why is it so difficult?!"

Yep, we went camping in Bon Echo Provincial Park up in Northern Ontario for the weekend. It was great weekend. But that 8 hour drive back home to PA really stinks. He only had a 3 hour drive back to Courtice. We were with friends and I had to explain the whole immigration process.... Can it just be over already! I'm turning blue from repeating myself so much! LOL

Yeah! Let´s be patient! It will take some time but finally we all will have the opportunity to be with our loves.... Leave all this process in God hands!! and keep praying every day! I do, and my husband too.

Don´t lose hope and talk to your wives or husbands in their countries all the time! I´m in Madrid and I talk with my baby at least 3 hrs, every day!! of course on chat, phone, etc. He is not here with me but.... to talk all the time make things easier!

Quick question guys. So if I make $14,000 a year but own a house and a car, is that enough for the AOS to be 125% above the poverty level for 2? Does putting a house and a car as assets even count for the AOS? Just trying to get ahead here.

In order to qualify based on the value of your assets, the total value of your assets must equal at least five times the difference between your total household income and the current poverty guidelines for your household size. However,if you are a U.S. citizen and you are sponsoring your spouseor minor child, the total value of your assets must only be equal to at least three times the difference. If the intending immigrant is an alien orphan who will be adopted in the United States after the alien orphan acquires permanent residence, and who will, as a result, acquire citizenship under section 320 of the Act, the total value of your assets need only equal the difference.

To use the assets of a relative (spouse, adult son or daughter,parent or sibling), the relative must reside with you and have completed a Form I-864A, Contract Between Sponsor and Household Member, with accompanying evidence of assets.The Form I-864A and accompanying evidence of assets is submitted with Form I-864. You may use the assets of more than one relative who resides with you so long as you submit acomplete Form I-864A with evidence of assets for each such relative.

Inthis case, you would meet the income requirements if the net value of the assets equaled at least $20,000.

Sorry I keep bothering with questions about this but I really want to try and get this perfectly straight and you guys know your stuff well. The difference in my situation would be around $4,000 so according to that the total of my assets would have to be around $20,000 to qualify. The house is currently at a market value of around $160,000. That's more than enough, correct? Should I get a co-sponsor that does make the $18,000+ a year?
