wow really??? that's great news for us! wooohoo!

She has to be joking. A government agency working around the clock to process paperwork? In this economy? I don't think even FEMA does this during disasters, so it seems hard to believe that USCIS would. I would be surprised if they got overtime to process backlog, but they certainly would NOT get staffing and overtime to cover 24/7 processing.

Mark

No Im not joking!!!!!!!!!!! CSC has been working 24/7 since early April due to the H2 visas and the 60,000 visa cap .

Believe it or not they are still catching up, handling current petitions, and handling loads from Vermont since Vermont is processing K1's mainly and other visas. I dont kid about stuff like this, I too was in the waiting area for a long time. False hopes is the worst thing in this immigration process!!! I dont do that!

P.S. Many government agencies work 24/7 CBP, USDA, FDA, DEA, ICE. all of them, many of us dont work just Mon-Fri. and have the weekends off.

Cool Paris! That's great news! I know for a fact that DEA and ICE (at least the federal agents) don't work 24/7. They work 50 hour weeks and can get called out a lot at night and on weekends, but the agents don't get paid over 50 hours (except agencies such as US Secret Service-they can get OT). Trust me on this one! But I'm specifically talking about the gun toters...

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

Rest is on my timeline!

Do you have a source to verify that this is true?

I don't doubt that federal agencies work 24/7. I just doubt that USCIS processing I-130s would work 24/7. That expense is usually relegated to emergency services of some kind. So I would find 24/7 I-130 processing surprising, to say the least.

For full disclosure, I work for the government, albeit the government of the state of Washington and not the feds. Paris, you said "many of us"... can you disclose what agency you work for (I can understand reluctance to do so).

Mark

Okay, Earlier in year, there were 2 articles I ran across about CSC working 3 shifts basically 24/7 One publish in a CBP general news information updates. Look for yourself weekend approvals, ither way I remember waiting on weekends and long holiday weekends waiting for touches , seeing touches on weekends.

Job title is Import Specialist, U.S. Customs Broker, CBP

I regret posting a bit of light for the weekend, cause like I said, I remember the waiting mode for the case to proceed living for Mon thru Fri. dreading the weekends , until I saw that article. Too bad NVC does not work 24/7, you will know what I mean when you get to NVC.

Im not going to keep going round and round about this, all I do is try to give light to people waiting, as I did in a horrible , un-profession , stint with USCIS and our case. Waiting and not knowing is the worst thing in this process.

Wait till Tueaday and start the process again then, in mean while enjoy the weekend.

Truly happy!!!

New life, new adventures, and a new attitude.

Sorry. I hadn't meant to ruffle any feathers. It is definitely not worth any of us getting wound up about. Sorry I started it...

Of course, we all know how timelines go...but I've been looking at the June forum and it's looking good for them! Two months or a little over two months. Of course, some are unfortunately still waiting. It just gives us hope though!!!! I think once a few of us get approved and some of us are waiting, that's going to suck. But we'll get thru it together!
