Bring on the NOA2s!!! Nobody touched my case today, so there won't be anything until Tuesday. If I can take my mind off this, I plan on doing some major sleeping this weekend... looks like its going to be good Northwest sleeping weather (rain, rain, rain).

Mark :)

wow really??? that's great news for us! wooohoo!

She has to be joking. A government agency working around the clock to process paperwork? In this economy? I don't think even FEMA does this during disasters, so it seems hard to believe that USCIS would. I would be surprised if they got overtime to process backlog, but they certainly would NOT get staffing and overtime to cover 24/7 processing.

Yes, I'm certainly not working 24/7 this weekend! The only thing I could think of is towards the end of the fiscal year, federal agencies can have a bunch of leftover money that has to be spent by 10/1. Maybe USCIS received extra funding, though I wouldn't consider processing our I-130s as a priority...homeland security/DOJ funding should be top priority!!!!!

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

Rest is on my timeline!

Arrgggh, I can't edit! I didn't mean to say processing our I-130s is not a priority. I meant to say that's how the government probably perceives it, and that other government agencies would get funding. I think I need to go back to bed!

No Im not joking!!!!!!!!!!! CSC has been working 24/7 since early April due to the H2 visas and the 60,000 visa cap .

Believe it or not they are still catching up, handling current petitions, and handling loads from Vermont since Vermont is processing K1's mainly and other visas. I dont kid about stuff like this, I too was in the waiting area for a long time. False hopes is the worst thing in this immigration process!!! I dont do that!

P.S. Many government agencies work 24/7 CBP, USDA, FDA, DEA, ICE. all of them, many of us dont work just Mon-Fri. and have the weekends off.

Do you have a source to verify that this is true?

I don't doubt that federal agencies work 24/7. I just doubt that USCIS processing I-130s would work 24/7. That expense is usually relegated to emergency services of some kind. So I would find 24/7 I-130 processing surprising, to say the least.

For full disclosure, I work for the government, albeit the government of the state of Washington and not the feds. Paris, you said "many of us"... can you disclose what agency you work for (I can understand reluctance to do so).
