Any why is it they are for Obama-stimulus spending to fuel the economy but not the kind of spending that buys everything from Uniforms to aircraft and vehicles which supply the military?

You actually believe that is an investment? You're joking right? The military is a net loss; anyone with a basic business acumen..........................................................

Haza.... easy guy, I know you have an opinion and can't wait to share it...but first lets follow the conversation so you are even on-topic.

:wow:

Nobody was debating about how good an "investment" the military is, thats another subject we can do.

We were talking about government spending which fuels the economy such as Cash for Clunkers and I mentioned the billions thrown into the economy by the military.

Yes, one is an investment the other is not. Stimulating the economy is an investment. after all you need $$$$ to pay for the military. Some 20 year old drinking it up is certainly not paying for it. It's my taxes that are paying for it. Cash for clunkers was a booster shot for the economy and also got rid of the legacy ####### cars Americans have been driving for years.

Sounds like repubs are jealous of someone else receiving something. Instead, you should look at various billions who receive hundreds of millions for doing absolutely nothing, yet pay less tax than you.

PS I was in Avon, NC (OBX) not too long ago. I'm thinking about buying a house there.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

It's sad really when some is a sore loser. Rather than trying to better themselves, is actually spending time trying to discredit the winners.

That is when you know a place is going down faster than the Titanic. At least that took a few hours to sink.

Close down every military base and cancel all Military contracts and place all military personnel on unemployment you tell me what would happen?

That's no better an example than citing any major employer in an area. Isn't it good capitalist rationale that if a business is no longer viable or the product no longer needed, it should shut? Are you implying to me that we keep building a war chest to save jobs?

I think we are straying off point... my point anyway :)

If people feel "cash for Clunkers" is a great idea to stimulate the economy ..... how do they turn around and say throwing money at the military is not just as good.
