Strange thing happened today w/NVC

Hello-

We were pursuing a K3 and have just returned the package 3 to the embassy. Today, I received an email stating that our CR1 visa case was complete and was being forwarded to the embassy as well. The only thing I sent to the NVC was the DS-3032 and paid the $70 fee. I didn't do anything else. but our case is complete and forwarded. Is this ok?? I am guessing we can cancel our K3 interview and wait for a CR1 interview? If we do wait for the CR1 interview--since it was forwarded today, will it be about the same times as the K3 would be anyway? but obviously the CR1 is the better visa. (We are just trying to get Tom here ASAP--we have a newborn if you haven't read my other posts) Thanks for any help.

The CR-1 is much better, it's worth the extra wait.

I've heard depending on the Consulate that if both the K-3 and CR-1 petitions are at the embassy they can switch the K-3 interview for a CR-1 interview. Someone here might be have more info on that.

I HAVE PAID THE 70$ FEE FOR DS3032. But when I phoned with CR1 case # to the NVC today they said the case is complete and it has been forwarded to the embassy. We were pursuing both K3 and CR1 once we were in stupid AP. WHat do you think??? We did have someone at the embassy--that we met a year ago---called the NVC on our behalf and requested our CR1 ASAP. Can they do that and complete a case based on a consulate's request without getting the AOS from me yet??

Sarah, No what you need to do is "FLIP" the interviews, and Im trying to find out how this is done. Ive heard of flipping before, I even posted in the K3 section today asking how to do this. Cause I think if we come out of AP at NVC for the K3 both will be there to schedule a interview, and if its a K3 that will be scheduled first, I want to know how to FLIP it for the CR1. I will let you know if I find out how to do this.
