If the information in this article is accurate then the reporter should have told the truth. However once again right wing hypocrisy rears its ugly head, as John Kerry DID serve in Vietnam (receiving at least a Bronze Star as I recall) & the Republicans dragged him through the mud. I personally didn't care much for John Kerry as a politician, but the fact that the Republicans went after his service record was disgusting. Same goes for Bush... lousy President, but tell the (whole) truth about his service record.

Only problem is that Kerry injured himself for the purple hearts, shot a 17 year old in the back, and only spent 3 months in the war.

While my father, a swift-boat veteran, spent 3 years in the war, legitimately won a purple heart from enemy fire, and is an honorable man.

Kerry came back and betrayed the country, and accused the military at the same time Jane Fonda was saying the same things. How many military men and women like Jane Fonda (democrat or republican). You'd be hard pressed to find one.

Whether the war was worthwhile or not is another story.

Have you ever served in the military? If so you would know that a Silver Star is a very rare award & it would be extremely difficult to fake your way into receiving one. Moreover your reasoning is flawed, as the point of the OP's article is that Bush the serviceman & Bush the politician should be viewed separately (same would go for Kerry). You can say Kerry isn't a good politician... you can say what he did after the war is questionable... but question his service record based on heresay & you've crossed the line.

I can question the Traitors war service record. His own fellow soldiers that he served with said he lied to get his medals and I doubt ALL of them lied and I trust them over Kerry any day.

Yea, people can't change their views between the ages of 19 and 50. I'm sure you still think and act like you did when you were a teen and never did anything in your life that you would change. Hindsight is always 20/20, isn't it? Kerry went to Vietnam and fought. He protested when he came home. Bush didn't go or report, he is a hero.

True, but do you think a person who smoked a cigarrete when they were 12 and lied about it should be considered a liar 50 years later when that was their only infraction? Just an analogy. I don't know about the people here and in the media, but I look at many thing differentoly now than I did when I was a teen. I try to learn through my lifes experiences, not be crucifked because I cut a class decades ago.
