Medical examination scheduling

It's still not clear to me how medical examination is scheduled. It seems that it all depends on the country, for some countries NVC schedules it for you, and for other countries (like Russia) you have to take care of medical all by yourself. The annoying thing here is that the only authorized clinics for medical examination in Russia are located in Moscow, one has to go there (from far away) for a couple of days just to get the medical done.

Medical is done not later than one month before interview date, because results are valid for 1 month. Medical is scheduled by beneficiary with the authorized clinic only after an interview date is scheduled by NVC. Same annoying thing about Bulgaria, with the difference it took me 3 hrs to go to the capital for medical, not 3 days :P Good luck :)

We plan to travel to Moscow 2 days before the interview and do everything at once (medical and interview). I hope they'll let us bypass the 1-hour line to the embassy since we have a small child, so we don't have to wait there in the freezing cold.

My wife (then fiance) and her daughter traveled to Moscow 2 days before their interview and got everything done with no problem. One of the medical clinics does same day results.

I'm not sure what time they process IR-1/CR-1's, but the K-1's are processed first thing in the morning, at 8:00. Not much of a line even at 7:45. The whole process took about 2 or 2 1/2 hours. I was waiting outside in the cold, although much of that time I was down the street at a coffee shop! I did notice that by 10:30 there was a long line for what ever they were processing then.
