I sponsored my soon to be ex-mother-in-law on a tourist Visa In January. Is there anyway I can have this visa revoked by contacting the granting embassy(Ukraine)? Anybody have experience with such a situation?

What you mean sponsored? Tourist visa are not sponsored at least in my country. Visitor has to prove he/she is coming back to his/her homeland and has economical properties and ties to come back.

It is highly unlikely you could get her visa cancelled, Tourist visas are given when the applicant can show enough evidence that they will return to their home country.

The fact that you said you would cover her expences while here is not a legally binding agreement, you only indicated that you would be willing to meet her financial needs while here.

Has your soon to be ex mother-in-law done something to you to make you want to have her visa revoked??

You can try to withdraw your support - but revocation is up to the Embassy/Consulate.

Lets just say she not welcome in my home anymore. I just want to ensure that she is out of my life. I don't so much care if she is in the States, but just not in my home. I was checking to see if the the sponsoring citizen can withdraw their support. I want an assurance she is not able to visit ME anymore.

Once the divorce is finalized, that's your assurance that 'she' is out of your life. (BTW, which she are you referring to, your wife or MIL?) Once the familial association has been severed, why would your EX-MIL want to visit you? If you and your wife (your ex-MIL's daughter, I presume) are no longer living together, she would have no reason to be coming to your house.

You did not 'sponsor' her for the tourist visa....your letter of support complemented the visa application but it was not the deciding factor. Your MIL's ability to prove sufficient ties to the home country is what was key in the approval of the tourist visa.

You won't get this kind of assurance from the Consulate/Embassy - or US government in general. I don't want Jehovah's witnesses visiting me, but they do sometimes -guess what? I don't answer the door.

Seriously - not much can be done - if you feel you are in danger, you might be able to secure a restraining order.

Tourist visas are issued (according to the State Dept.) on an individual's "own merit". You did not sponsor her for a tourist visa. Even if you gave an invitation letter or I-134, it is not the basis of a tourist visa issuance. I doubt you can have it revoked, and what for? You are getting divorced? And she got the visa to visit her daughter? It would seem her desire to visit is greatly diminished and even if not...who cares? My "ex-mother in law" is a US citizen and somehow I manage to live a normal life even though she is in the same country all the time!

Who is in your home is up to you...not the state department. If she is on your property or in your home without your permission it is a crime.
