This is for any old VJer's who "Flipped" their K3 interview to a CR-1/IR interview.

I filed for a K3, both petitions were approved by USCIS, the K3 is in AP at NVC and I just paid the IV bill at NVC for the CR-1

now, if by some chance the K3 is released from AP and sent to embassy and a interview is scheduled, and a CR-1 is completed at NVC and sent to embassy, and if a possiblity of flipping interviews if we get K3 interview first, how do I "flip" a K3 interview for a CR-1??

Or do I just interview for which ever interview is assigned first? , and just accept that visa interview?

Any help is apprechiated.

Beth

I heard that flip is compulsory if they have received your IR papers from NVC

if they have not, they will probably not do it.

I am surprised you think that K3 is going to be scheduled first.

giving that it is stuck at NVC for AP

after NVC sends it, embassy might call you after 2 weeks and send you instructions

then you have to fill papers

then they schedule

practically your IR might me as fast

given that you have already started it.

or maybe you have a problem with a PCC missing?

there you might send the obsolete one first giving it a try

and saying that you will have the new one at the interview

We were able to flip our interviews in Frankfurt last month. The CR-1 paperwork arrived at the embassy 2 days before the scheduled K-3 interview. The next morning, someone from the embassy called my husband informing him that the paperwork had arrived and telling him he had the option of showing up the next day at the K-3 appointment and interviewing for the CR-1 then, or waiting until his scheduled CR-1 interview. He of course said "see you tomorrow". :)

Hope this helps
