hello everybody

I am just about to mail all my evidence to My fiancee in new york who is just about to mail the petition this weekend and i just got a couple of questions.

1) G-325A forms do we send one each or four each? (ive checked i have the up to date version so im thinking one but kinda want to print four just incase)

2) Exactly how many passport pictures do i need?

3) Are you able to have all the evidence we submit sent back? (birth cirtificates etc) becuase i dont want to get approved and have nothing for the interviews months down the line!!!

4)We still plan to visit each other once we submit the forms, im preparing letters from work plus where i live etc proving im living/working in england while its being processed, did anyone have any trouble at JFK airport (where i always fly in to) or any american point of entry?

this application has taken over my life....... any advice welcome!!!

The 'official' word from USCIS isn't in yet. VJ is recommending that you print and sign four copies for the time being, just in case.

2) Exactly how many passport pictures do i need?

For the petition, one for you and one for your fiancee. You'll need more later on at the consulate stage.

3) Are you able to have all the evidence we submit sent back? (birth cirtificates etc) becuase i dont want to get approved and have nothing for the interviews months down the line!!!

No, they don't generally return any evidence you submit. Send photocopies. Don't send originals with ANY submission of documents. You should have the originals with you when you go to the interview, in case the CO asks for them. The only thing that MUST be original are documents which require the signature of you or your fiancee, like immigration forms and letter of intent, etc.

4)We still plan to visit each other once we submit the forms, im preparing letters from work plus where i live etc proving im living/working in england while its being processed, did anyone have any trouble at JFK airport (where i always fly in to) or any american point of entry?

My fiancee has never entered the US as a tourist, either before or after I filed (it's virtually impossible to get a tourist visa to the US in Vietnam). However, from what I've read some people DO have problems at the POE. Just bring your evidence, be honest and confident with the CBP officer, and hope for the best.

=>>This is one of the most UNCLEAR points in the application process.

"If you have a question about immigration procedures, or need clarification,

call our National Customer Service Center (NCSC) at:

1-800-375-5283 (TTY 1-800-767-1833)"

I called the hotline and they told me to send (2) G-325a forms for the petitioner and beneficiary each.

2) Exactly how many passport pictures do i need?

Naturally the form says attach one photo, but I sent one for each form sent (total 4) just to be safe.

I'm sure a photo will be attached to each copy and filed in the appropriate location.

3) Are you able to have all the evidence we submit sent back? (birth cirtificates etc) becuase i dont want to get approved and have nothing for the interviews months down the line!!!

From VJ Wiki:

Original documents should never be submitted to USCIS, however originals should be presented at all personal interviews. All foreign language documents must be translated and certified as valid English translations. The translation must include a statement signed by the translator that states that the:

Translation is accurate, and

Translator is competent to translate.

The NVC requires documents as original or certified copy. Certified copies are copies certified by issuing agency and not by a notary. Sometimes it is easy to request duplicate original from issuing agency then having certified by them.

Your foreign spouse may required to show original documents at a time of interview.

If in doubt, call the hotline. It was amazing how soon I got someone on the line.

4)We still plan to visit each other once we submit the forms, im preparing letters from work plus where i live etc proving im living/working in england while its being processed, did anyone have any trouble at JFK airport (where i always fly in to) or any american point of entry?

Search VJ; I have no comment, but I did get thoroughly checked (politely) on my last return from Thailand.
