Good Thursday morning to all Mena. I'm looking at airline ticket to visit Ahmed in late December. So far, the best deal I can find is on www.globester.com for $687 on Turkish airlines. Does anyone have any other suggestions on websites I should check out?

Holly Kay

Ps. the trip is from December 29 to Jan 5 and I ll be flying out of Chicago.

Is that a round trip price??? I'd check very very carefully about that because I've never seen a price that low. Particularly because that is a holiday period and prices should be higher.

If that's a round trip price and you're okay with the airline, I'd grab it. I've never seen a price below 900.

Living with hubby in Egypt, at last.

It can be such low but I would not suggest Turkish Airlines.

Try looking at the best travel store...I have always had good luck with that one! Website is www.bt-store.com

It doesn't hurt to look!

Good luck finding good prices!

Hey if you look closer turkish airlines are cheaper on that website but also have large taxes I looked around december also and it was 607.00 but with taxes it was 1000.00 so if you found them with taxes included I would get the tickets, I went to the website just now and discovered the taxes. Good luck to you.

Good to know Turkish Airlines is nice. My hubby just flew yesterday on that airline from Istanbul to Damascus, but I haven't heard yet from him. Reassuring to know the airline is ok.

ive had problems with globester before. they give u a quote online and u go to buy it and they take ur credit card number and everything...ur all excited cuz ur getting an awesome deal and then u get an error. they say to either email or call them for a manual transaction. so we emailed them and within minutes they called us with the "new price" which was about 300 more and higher then other sites we checked.

I'm flying Turkish Airlines from Cairo to Istanbul, then from Istanbul into Chicago. There is a 5 1/2 hour lay-over in Istanbul. Never having been there before, of course I'd like to see it. Does anyone know if that's possible - how far the airport is from downtown, if 5 1/2 hours is enough time to go and come back without missing my flight, visa issues (costs, etc.) - or should simply breathing Turkish air be sufficient?

That is a low price but hey, if it's legit and like Donna said her hubby liked it, maybe you will too. We normally fly Delta or NWA. Delta has a straight flight from JFK to Cairo so that is preferred to us then going to let's say Amsterdam and being laid over for 5-6 hours.
