I just think it's such a stupid article. I presume the idea is that somehow the Democrats are not only ruining the economy but also endangering the very fabric of democracy with this 'out of control' spending blah blah blah - talk about hyperbole to make a not very good point ;)

What does an article like this achieve though, beyond ensuring that this excrement is peddled everywhere by the likes of young Danno here, who clearly doesn't understand the dangers inherent in it - or perhaps he does and perhaps he does believe that a nice little right wing dictatorship is the only way to ensure that these abhorrant 'lefty/socialist' policies are never implemented?

It achieves nothing - its written by a career politician who is in love with the sound of his own voice, who likes to present himself as some sort of idealist when he is, in fact, as corrupt as the rest - and part of the problem.

Tea Party Crowd Boos The Fact That Reagan Increased Deficit

Check out this YouTube of Rep. Steve Driehaus (D-OH) being ambushed by a Tea Party crowd at his town hall from two days ago, and how they reacted when he committed an unpardonable sin -- criticizing Reagan!

At the 2:30 mark here, a woman got up and made the extraordinary claim that Reagan tripled federal tax revenues by cutting the top marginal rate from 70% down to 28%:

After the cheering calmed down a bit, Driehaus pointed out: "What we saw is also a tremendous increase in the deficit." Apparently, the crowd then began yelling back that no, Reagan did not increase the deficit.

As you can see, the crowd also chanted "Vote for Chabot!" as Driehaus left -- a reference to the former Republican Congressman that Driehaus unseated in 2008, and who is now mounting a comeback bid.

Note: Tax revenues did not triple under Reagan -- the most generous method of counting, without taking into account population increases and inflation, is 80%. Driehaus could have stated that, but look at how badly the crowd reacted to the Reagan-deficit link.

...priceless

Isn't this the same Patrick Buchanan who told Nixon, Reagan, Bush 41, and Bush 43 that "deficits don't matter?"

Free Spirit, care to offer a quote to put it in context..... or perhaps thats another figment of your imagination all together.

Hey Scarecrow...I'm simply asking a question...the same thing that you always do. Why is it that you have developed a sudden dislike for questions?

Think of it this way. If you're a home "owner" with a mortgage, what are you more concerned with - the size of your remaining mortgage balance or your ability to make your monthly payment (function of amount and your income)?

As long as we don't default on our outstanding debt, it's actually not that bad. That's all Cheney was saying when he said deficits don't matter. And I happen to agree with Darth Vader on this one.

Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.

You call that a question?

Okay let me try it too.

"Free spirit when will you pull your head out of your Azz"

(it's just a question.) B)

Now care to validate your claim?

Sure AJ but the problem is (since we are using the Mortgage concept) is we don't have a "fixes" mortgage.

Its more like a Balloon mortgage.

Mean while our home owner (economy) is bringing home less and less money.

How long do you think we can stay in this house?
