Know that people can use personal assets but I do not know if you can use business assets. I thought that if you used assets they had to be able to be turning into cash quickly so I am not sure this would be the case with a business. If the assets are not enough to meet the 125% then another co-sponsor will be needed. USCIS are not interested in what job the immigeant might have once they arrive in the USA they are only interested in how much the sponsor has to make sure the immigrant does not become a Public Charge.

What is the legal structure of the family business? Proprietorship, Partnership, Corporation?

hi thank for helping

the business is proprietorship,my daughter here in usa is the owner, what should she do for co sponsor

As a proprietorship where all the business income is reported on your daughter's personal tax return. Why not have your daughter be a joint sponsor and use her income rather than the business assets as resources on the I-864?

The amount that would show on line 22 of the sponsor's form 1040 is what is evaluated.

hi

thank you very much for all yours answer ,income on w2 is not enough for pverty guide lines so we have to use assets, please help let me know

1- If using car as asset ,what paper should be joined to prove the value of the car by the time of filling.

2- If using house ,what appraisal paper should be joined and do we have to make it appraise by a designated company by the NVC?.

3- The immigrant is my daughter over 21 years old and I am US citizen,so should we multiply the asset value by 3 or 5 times on the I 864 of the joint sponsor (joint sponsor is the immigrant'sister)

4- The joint sponsor have a business and can guaranty a work position available as soon as the immigrant arrive, will it help

#3 ) 5 times (3 times is for spouses who could potentially become a USC at three years. Your daughter is not eligible for 5 years.

YMMV

1- If using car as asset ,what paper should be joined to prove the value of the car by the time of filling. You probably can't use the car as an asset as it tends to depreciate too quickly. The value of the car diminishes significantly during the period that the sponsor would be liable for under the I-864.

2- If using house ,what appraisal paper should be joined and do we have to make it appraise by a designated company by the NVC?. A reasonable guess based on what similar home would do. You will be asked about the equity in the house (appraised value - mortgages).

3- The immigrant is my daughter over 21 years old and I am US citizen,so should we multiply the asset value by 3 or 5 times on the I 864 of the joint sponsor (joint sponsor is the immigrant'sister) 5

4- The joint sponsor have a business and can guaranty a work position available as soon as the immigrant arrive, will it help This does not matter because it has nothing to do with the sponsor. The I-864 is about the sponsor's ability to reimburse the government if the immigrate receives certain public benefits. Whether or not the immigrant has a job has no bearing on the I-864.

really really appreciate your time to answer

sincerely

Why don't you use the business income to show your joint sponsor's income? You haven't answer this question. It is the easier to use her tax returns than to show assets.

hi

thank again for answering

cannot use business income because it is not enough, joint sponsor and immigrant will be family of five and the multiply by five make the different too big

immigrants will be my daughter and grand child under 21 ,can joint sponsor give I 864 for both of them?because I m retired and my w2 cannot cover poverty guide line.
