we should have done the right thing by giving him lots of love and understanding, validating him as a person and embracing his differences!

See, that's the thing. I truly believe if we just showered the terrorists with love, they would see the light and stop what they were doing and just, you know, learn how to show some tender emotions and such. Next time a jihadi wants to blow you up, cradle him in your arms and coo to him.

Nice sarcasm

The simple fact is - things do not happen without reason and to focus entirely on the act while denying the broader political context that these events take place in is simply ignorant.

You won't find many people who go out of their way to defend mass murderers, or to somehow relativise or excuse their actions. Terrorism is ultimately a political and ideological phenomenon.

I wonder if you have any opinion of the Kashmir dispute?

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

Ok, I just have to ask - do you EVER find ANYthing the least bit amusing? I mean, do you ever just laugh out loud at silly things? Do you actually ever find things silly in the first place? Do you have a perpetual scowl on your face?

Come here, I will cradle you to my bosom and coo to you.

I do!

I think it's inhumane what they put these poor animals through - just to make a deliciously soft sweater!

An actual terrorist act has occurred and actual people have died. Actual historical reasons lie at the root of it.

Why does VJ allow all all that to get twisted by somoene who just wants to start a flame war?

Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.

Likewise I wonder if you are capable of discussing serious issues in an adult way. Or is terrorism a joke to you? From your indignance on other threads, I'd say not.

"Millions for defense, but not one cent for tribute."

-- Representative Robert Goodloe Harper, Address, June 18, 1798 (Harper was the Chairman of the Committee on Ways and Means) When we were fighting Islamic pirates in 1798.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

It must be noted that the extremists of the past, such as the Nazis and the Fascists, were only stopped after their utter defeat at the end of world war 2. Hitler's genocidal attitude never changed in life. It only ended with his death. It is the same with these Jihadi terrorists. Negotiating with them is usually seen as a sign of weakness and they demand more and more, until there is no more to give. Israel's noble gesture in withdrawing from Gaza is being reciprocated with Kassam rockets. Now is the time for these murderers to feel the iron fist of the Israel Defence Forces. India better learn that there will never be an accommodation with these ruthless killers. Just deal with them the same way as with Hitler. Wipe them off the face of the earth.

see that was the problem! we never gave hitler a chance! no un, various resolutions, counseling, beer for food program, and so on to get him to mend his ways. in short, we were the racists in that fight as we instantly painted hitler as a very bad person without getting to know him or even trying to understand his thinking. i've read that he had a very troubled childhood and that was responsible for many of his actions later on in life. we should have done the right thing by giving him lots of love and understanding, validating him as a person and embracing his differences!

Thanks God that hitler didn't have any oil.

You really need to start getting your "information" from a more reputable source. Or do you just willfully make this ridiculous stuff up, hoping no one will catch it ?

The quote you cite has absolutely nothing to do with "Islamic pirates," as you absurdly claim. Harper's remark was in reference to a squabble between the U.S. and France, which started when the United States signed Jay's Treaty with Great Britain.

If you are really interested in fact rather than fiction (which I somehow doubt) Google is always your friend
