they must have had some suspicion...how very odd. Im sorry you started your day like that. but, the bright side is.. maybe you'll get your AOS approval now that they have invaded your private life and found "what they need" :eyeroll:

I remember reading of someone posting not long ago, maybe a few weeks or so; that their friend had a home visit for AOS.

maybe they are stepping it up and starting random home visits ???

They want proof that they are living together, dirty laundry, dishes in the sink for two, men and women tolietries in the medicine cabinet,

men and women clothing, shoes, even will check to see what magazines on coffee table, House & Gardens for her, and him GQ.

Will even look for pictures of the couple around the house, etc. Careful may even take the sheets off the bed for DNA, Im not kidding.

can they really do that?? can they really go so far as to take the sheets for DNA?

sara

If they have proable cause of a fake marriage, Yes they can. The government can give you everything one minute, and take it all away one minute later.,they answer to nobody.

Since 9/11 DHS have left alot of their regular duties slide, but since its been almost 8 years, then are getting back into some of the duties they have let slide. Ive seen this in my work, I deal with DHS everyday, and seen many changes over the years due to 9/11.

and the changes of DHS since the aftermath. More surprise inspections will occur more and more if fraud is suspected.

Truly happy!!!

New life, new adventures, and a new attitude.

No. He wasn't at home. They did ask where he was, I told em he works graveyard shift and wouldn't be home for another 30 mins or so. They seemed fine with it, and continued their investigation.

well on the bright side, its good to know the Goverment works earlier than an 8a-5p job!

I know in a Stokes interview they ask questions like ~'what color is the others toothbrush?' 'who sleeps closer to the alarm clock' and 'what did you have for breakfast'.

But to come see ya'll in action~~wow

Good luck in the rest of your journey!

Stupid questions that don't prove anything. Neither my husband or I could tell you what color our own toothbrushes are, let alone each others. Mine is on the left, his is on the right. Who sleeps closest to the alarm? We would both say "I do". He has one on his side, I have one on mine. What did you have for breakfast? I could tell you what he eats, he couldn't tell you what I eat. I don't eat breakfast until I get to work.

Proves nothing.

And right now, the only clothes in our hamper is mine. Of course he has been in Morocco for 4 weeks. :P I guess if we had to prove a valid marriage we would fail.

'Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO, What a Ride'

All they would get is a facefull of stinky breath and a bad attitude.... sorry!!!

Oh wow, hope the information they got gives you a fast approval!

If this were to happen to us, we would be in trouble because we don't answer the door when it's someone we don't know, specially at odd hours

Caro

And the next thing you will be tasting is the front lawn with cute little chrome bracelets on both wrists. Just cooperate like the other poster said.

 Long story short . On 2nd K1. AOS interview Dec 08. No letter in mail of approval..nothing. Even went up to Seattle to inquire 3 months ago, asking ####### is going on  Guy said "can't tell you anything". Drove all the way to Seattle for that response.!!??

Anways, this morning I'm sound asleep after working 3 12 hour shifts in a row. I hear a loud knock on the door, go out to answer half asleep. Get 2 badges in my face " Dept of Homeland Security. Can we come in?" I'm like "Am I under arrest" still half asleep.

They scoured my house. Looked in my hamper, my drawers, EVERYWHERE. Then said "Good, we have what we need". Needless to say, I couldn't sleep anymore

Just wanted to let you MENA Ladies know...they might do the same to you if you're on 2nd K-1 or K3...etc.... My hubby's from Syria btw....

Sorry to hear about your ordeal; it sounds very scary like in the movies, WOW!

I doubt I would answer the door at that time of day, if I wasn't expecting anyone, but that's how I am. i guess we would be in trouble if they came knocking here, though, as Ahmed and i don't typically sleep together (our bed hurts his back, so he likes to sleep on the floor... fine by me, i get to hog the bed, and the kiddo usually comes in to sleep with me in the morning anyway)

that is pretty freaky, though.

This is dangerous advice and 100% inappropriate. It is very difficult to avoid the use of vehement profanity in further description of it. The correct advice -- that in post #6 of this thread -- needs to be read and understood by everyone on VJ, copied into a stand-alone message, and pinned.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
