 Long story short . On 2nd K1. AOS interview Dec 08. No letter in mail of approval..nothing. Even went up to Seattle to inquire 3 months ago, asking ####### is going on  Guy said "can't tell you anything". Drove all the way to Seattle for that response.!!??

Anways, this morning I'm sound asleep after working 3 12 hour shifts in a row. I hear a loud knock on the door, go out to answer half asleep. Get 2 badges in my face " Dept of Homeland Security. Can we come in?" I'm like "Am I under arrest" still half asleep.

They scoured my house. Looked in my hamper, my drawers, EVERYWHERE. Then said "Good, we have what we need". Needless to say, I couldn't sleep anymore

Just wanted to let you MENA Ladies know...they might do the same to you if you're on 2nd K-1 or K3...etc.... My hubby's from Syria btw....

They didn't have a warrant. If they did, they wouldn't have knocked.

You have rights. Whenever ANY government official comes to your door (especially at ridiculous times of day or night) and asks if they can enter, you should always ask for a warrant. If they don't have one, tell them to go get one, and then call a lawyer. Make sure the lawyer is at your house before they get the warrant. You are not required to allow government officials into your home unless they have a warrant.

Warning: There is a trick question that law enforcement officers like to ask when you tell them to go get a warrant. They often reply "Are you refusing to cooperate?". NEVER so "Yes". They can arrest you on the spot for refusing to cooperate. Just say "I will cooperate in every way required by law. The law requires YOU to get a judge to sign a warrant, and then the law requires ME to let you into my home."

I'm thinking they must've had suspicions we didn't live together. Or the fact this was 2nd visa i've applied for, maybe they were suspicious about that. I asked, they said they couldn't answer that question.

they must have had some suspicion...how very odd. Im sorry you started your day like that. but, the bright side is.. maybe you'll get your AOS approval now that they have invaded your private life and found "what they need" :eyeroll:

I remember reading of someone posting not long ago, maybe a few weeks or so; that their friend had a home visit for AOS.

maybe they are stepping it up and starting random home visits ???

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

They want proof that they are living together, dirty laundry, dishes in the sink for two, men and women tolietries in the medicine cabinet,

men and women clothing, shoes, even will check to see what magazines on coffee table, House & Gardens for her, and him GQ.

Will even look for pictures of the couple around the house, etc. Careful may even take the sheets off the bed for DNA, Im not kidding.

Truly happy!!!

New life, new adventures, and a new attitude.

if they checked the hamper sounds to me like they were looking to see if u guys put ur dirty cloths together i guess from their point of view that could be solid evidence that ur in a true marriage and the fact they came at six maybe they were hoping to find both of you at home sleeping separate* good God *if they did that and a couple had just had a fight and one make the choice to sleep it off on the sofa wow the implications are to much to even think about

sounds to me like they verified ur relationship unless of course there was no dirty laundry?
