EAD How Long

Hello

My wife has received her EAD NOA1 last week. Can anyone out there who has gotten their work permit tell me just how long it usually takes to get one? Or are there any shortcuts that we don't know about?

I had a nightmare getting my EAD mainly due to USCIS being dimlows and messing things up, but I had a info pass appointment (you can make after 90 days have passed since your NOA1) and the woman in my local office chased up the said EAD and sorted it so now NBC are sending the new card as of yesterday (bout bloody time) it will be valid for 2 years (the woman said if you are married then it runs longer than the one you get in you come on a K1 which only runs for a year).

I dont know of any short cuts sorry.

No, there are no short cuts.

If, after 90 days, your wife has had her biometrics appointment but has not received her EAD, she may make an infopass appointment at the local office and receive a temporary EAD, as referenced in donna's nightmare.

My husband had his biometrics after day 90 of the NOA1, so we weren't able to get a temp EAD. He received his EAD sometime after 100 days after the NOA1.

In the mean time, look for volunteer opportunities that your wife can do to keep her occupied. My husband nearly went insane waiting until he got himself out of the house volunteering for the county 4 days a week.
