I-129F question NVC

Does anyone know how long it takes the NVC to mail an approved I-129F to the United states embassy in thailand looking at others cases looks like 2 days or so talking to them they say it goes out DHL is that true does anyone know how long the process takes the NVC is claiming the mailed my app to the thai embassy on the 17th of august im worried it might get lost as the thai embassy does not have it as of today

Also do we need to wait for the packet three to be mailed out to my fiancee in thailand or can we just send them the information of the packet 3 we downloaded from the web as soon as they say they recieve it from the NVC. im tring to speed the process

Take a look a my timeline. The NVC claims they mailed it on April 1, and the embassy didn't acknowledge receipt of it until April 16. Who knows when it actually arrived, and there is probably no way for us to find out. My guess is that it arrives relatively quickly but it sits until the embassy gets around to entering it into their computer system, at which time it is considered "received". Just email the BKK embassy every few days until they ackowledge receipt of it. Until then it is in no-man's land.

I believe the embassy lets you download the forms off their website, but I would definitely check with BKK before you do anything. The policies over there seem to change often.

NVC would have mailed your approved petition to the American embassy in BKK. It should be there at any time now.

You can send in the P 3 docs anytime you are sure the case is at the embassy. Make sure it is correctly done. You can check the current schedualed interviews to see how busy they are at this time. Find the link on the embassy site. The most recent cases I have seen or know about took about 60 days to get the intervew date.

You will need the police report & medical prior to the intervew.

The embassy in BKK consists of different sections. The consulate section is across the street for the actual embassy section.

NVC forwards the documents to the consulate section; they forward it to the embassy section. That alone causes some of the delay & the confusion.

One way to check on its location & status is to email the duty officer at the consulate section asking for assistance. This is what I did & they informed me of the case location.

if i confirm that they recieved it and i download the form from the web for the packet 3 and i decide to mail the one that i downloaded can anyone confirm from the packet 3 online is it the same one they send out do they require you wait for theres do they send somethingout with the packet 3 that you need to attach and send back to them im trying to see if i can mail them the packet 3 once they confirm they recievd my info from nvc i just dont want them to send back my packet saying this is not the one they mailed and they cannot process it

I cannot guarantee that the one on the website is the same one that they will send you. A few months ago the checklist on their website was out of date and they were sending the updated one via Thai post to beneficiaries. I strongly recommended you email them and confirm that you can download all the forms from the web and confirm all are up to date before sending anything to them unprompted.

You cannot schedule your interview. When the embassy receives your packet 3 docs from you the will, at some point, schedule an interview. Along with the date of the interview, they will send you "packet 4" which contains instructions regarding the interview. Take a look at recent BKK timelines to get an estimate of how long this will all take.

Also, you might find additional help in the "Sawasdee 3" thread. This is where some of the petitioners w/ Thai significant others (SOs) congregate. I found that thread to be extremely helpful during my recent dealings with the BKK embassy.

Fill out your timeline completely and then click on the "similar timelines to me" link in the "Immigration Timelines" section. You should see others going through the BKK embassy with links to their timelines, averages, and other stats.

FYI: Your consulate is listed as "Armenia", the default choice. You might want to change that to Bangkok if you want to get any useful results from the "similar timelines" tool.
