yeah, a lot - and a significant amount of the time is also spent dealing with off topic behaviour that has escaped into the upper forums, as well as the 'cyber fist fights' that break out in OT between individuals who aren't able to accept that others are entitled to their own opinions.

This is the reason I quit VJ as a whole for such a long time. I thought I was able to express my opinion once...I was taken down pretty quick...and called very UN-Canadian.

Besides people...this IS NOT real life. I know this but I fear there are some who don't. There, I've expressed my opinion again. :D

Hey (L) BertieMae (L) ? Once a Canadian, always a Canadian, eh?

And yeah, I always need a little kick in the butt to remind myself, this is NOT real life and what we are here and in real life are probably just as similar as different, you know?

But I also think, as people, we are allowed to express opinion as long as we're also good with being wrong and walking around with egg on our faces on occasion.

I have no issue with eggs, I quite love them and wear them with pride.

;)

i doubt we are labeled as that by the only 2 mods, who are approachable

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

As well as between those who have different opinions, understand that and accept that, and don't necessarily want or need to be "protected" from those who hold the different opinions.

Unfortunately, that is out of our hands. Mods are required to respond to reports and address issues whether members wish to be "protected" or not. Posts are reported numerous times per day, and not necessarily by the "victim".

It's too bad a lot of this activity can't be exported to the "other site." Perhaps if it was not so boring over there, the mods might have less to do here. But, I am afraid, that the usual cast of characters is just plain attention starved, and there is an inadequate audience over there. There is finally a place with few, but rarely inforced rules, yet everybody wants to play here, where there is a chance of getting suspended, or locking a thread.

Fuсking in public is only fun if there's a chance you might get caught.

So, if everyone would just chill, and pretend nothing is wrong, then all the bullies would go play somewhere else?

The freedom to choose -- that's really the key.

Yes, the key. The key to anarchy! :o

fart with a strong tailwind
Uh, a fart (a good one, anyway) normally is a strong tailwind, si man?

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

You can hang in OT and not take part into the BS discussions, but swap anecdotes, daily stuff, luvz and all that jazz. We have followed many pregnancies, births, courtships, marriages, interviews, denials, heartbreak, etc. The OT gang is a bunch of really crazy and diverse people, and that is what makes it fun. We disagree, b1tch at each other, and then talk on other topics as if nothing had happened, and we help each other. A world where everyone thinks the same would not be a place I would like to be part of.

Word.

We have choices, we go to our special area groups to learn instructions, how to file, what to do etc for our areas and make a few friends along the way. BUT there are times you need to leave all these complicated and somewhat trying times, so you go to OT. Here again you will not agree, and can hardly get a word in with Charles or Nagi, but you do still make long lasting friends (some you may meet and really know some just become your best (written) friends as both Charles and Nagi are two of mine. There will always be issues you dont approve of, just dont get involved, religion and politics will always cause a stir, the rest is all in good fun
