I guess I may be lucky here as I'd been divorced from ym first wife for over 9 years when I met Anna. I doubt I still own anything from way back then. I do however have things here & there that were gifts or simply purchases made during previous relationships.

Does keeping them mean that I still want that old relationship? Of course not, someties a salt shaker is just a salt shaker.

im just new here...we are close to get our visa in a weeks now...but my husband and i had a big fight over a small thing but seems that wer are heading in a separate ways....I AM SO SAD :dead::cry:

Every person, no matter how much faith they have or how good a person they are will face disappointments. it may be something more serious like a relationship not working out, the death of a loved one, or some kind of illness in your body. Whatever it may be, the reality is that we´re all going to suffer some setbacks. But I believe one of the main keys to overcoming disappointments is learning to let go of the past. The past weighs you down and holds you back.

If you feel "stuck" today, you may want to examine what you´re holding on to. Be willing let go of the past by choosing forgiveness. Who hurt you? Who wronged you? Release it to God. Do you need to forgive yourself? Do you need to receive God´s forgiveness? Make the choice today to let go of the past so that you can experience the bright future God has in store for you!

And pray

Heavenly Father, search your heart and mind today. Show the any area where YOU may be holding on to the past. Help you to receive Your forgiveness so that you can extend forgiveness to others and move forward in the wonderful plan You have for you. In Jesus name... AMEN

at the same time it could also be financial issues!!!.....I know I have a lot of things in my house the me and the ex purchased together but I know I don't have the money to replace it all!!!! from the car to living room set stuff like that .........When me and Pamela are as one we will start to replace things of her choice but we will take it day by day month by month ....I know my luggage was a wedding gift but I just look at it as luggage nothing else no sentimental value......On a funnier note I was cleaning the closet out the other day and my ex's wedding dress was in there ...so I brought it right outside to the fire pit and took care of it!!!!!!!!.......lol>>>>that felt so GOOD!!!!!

what would I do without the love you give me.

I agree with all the posters here, sis.

Past is past. Forget it and continue a new chapter of life that you guys are starting.

As the saying goes, never let the past ruin your present.

You might be over-reacting with the bag issue. It's only a bag.

It's not easy to buy new stuff and throw away some that are in PERFECT condition. Especially with the US economy right now.

Let both of your minds cool off and put this behind you.

The more you let the past rule your present life, the big mess its gonna create within your marriage.

I hope everything works out.

hmmm, past is past. Learn to forgive and forget. . Anyhow, be strong. . visa is so stressful esp the long wait in a long run. Hey, keep the faith burnin'. Remember that the GOD you seen in goodtimes is same GOD you meet in hardtimes. So, dont forget to pray and talk to him HEART to HEART and HE will guide you and your husband through this, with HIM nothing is impossible. God bless us all. Mwah!

I hope you dont mind me saying this but you have to change your perception. You would always have this fight unless you come into terms with yourself. He has his past and you have your past. The thing there, it is the past. You could not change the past. And sometimes, the best way is to accept his past.

With the recession right now, it might not be practical to throw out all stuff related to his past. That would be a lot of things. And sometimes, guys forget. They do have things that they don't remember that those things are related with the ex.

Just forget the past. You are letting the past affect you. With your present attitude, the ex has not to do anything to ruin your marriage life. Appreciate what you have right now. Enjoy it. Count your blessings. You could not change or erase the past.

Ooopss.!

Anyway, I also had an issue with my husband about "pasts". When he went to Manila, he saw a box (with my old photo album, movie tickets, cards and letters from my ex in Dubai) when he was cleaning/arranging our attic... he gave me the coldest treatment ever and when I asked what was wrong, he just said "If you want me to destroy my past completely, destroy yours" and told me what he found..I was speechless for seconds. Then asked him what he wanted me to do. He said it's up to me, it's my stuffs anyway.. So what I did in the evening, i burned it infront of him.. :crying:

i came with a little hope that some of the people here can give me some comfort and relax my mind but i was wrong! i've got criticized and condemned instead by people that i dont know and vice versa. but i dont blame you all. you all have the right in this world to voice out your opinion towards me. i just wished you look and ask yourself for a second..."what if i was in her shoes?" before you judge one especially when you dont know whats the story behind. nonetheless, i dont have any regrets in posting in here even though i got threwn insults and hurtful words from a judgemental people.

for those who gave their advices, thank you very much. and for all who judged me, thank you as well. i didn't expect that you guys will understand me but i also did not expect for any accusation from any one of you! next time, look at yourselves first before you judge others. just my opinion too!

thanks for reading! i am so HAPPY now coz my husband and i are back and loving each other again.
