Hello all,

Im going to get married to my girlfriend in mexico next mth. We are unclear what we should do first. i also wanted to know if i got a lawyer would the speed up the time frame of her moving here with me. one more thing after our paper work is filed can i move to mexico and stay with her till the visa is complete? My worry is if i go i wont have a job here anymore... so im asking if the papers are in does that even matter?

Any help would be great thanks & CONGRATS TO ALL THOSE WHO ARE DONE!!!!

it will matter if you have a job for your affidavit of support paperwork, however you may use co-sponsors for that (I-134) ...you can move to mexico and be with her. i currently have a fiance in mexico as well and we are doing a fiance visa (k-1 visa).

has she ever been here in the u.s.?

Getting a lawyer will not speed up your case - in fact (from someone who had a lawyer) they often slow up your case. Unless you have a complicated case, a lawyer is not really necessary
