I've never done it but why not www.manilaforwarder.com and stuff it in the middle of the box?

Don't list it on the customs declaration.

Worst thing that can happen is they find it or the whole box gets lost and you can't claim it was in the box (risk to everything in life). I know some countries xray the box. I'm not sure if the RP xrays boxes from shippers like the above. manilaforwarder might also be paying a bride to get a portion of their packages in without them being xray'd. It is the RP so ya never know what is what.

I've had success sending other valuables (Scuba Gear worth $1,200) in a Baylik Bayan Box. Just surround it with the cheap stuff like canned goods and wrap it in a few layers of towels/clothes.

Of course I also used several rolls of strapping & packing tape to ensure that the box isn't accidently opened in transit.

I say let him search for a laptop he wants and just send the money. Easier for everybody.

My Mom's Christmas gift was a laptop and she just send me the money from Phil to here and I bought one online ( Dell) which was on a one day sale. No hassle at all.

My husband sent me a laptop through USPS and it take 5 days only and door to door delivery. and it cost $1,020.

I think it is better you send a money and let him buy in the philippines.

My 2 cents here... as I work in the computer industry.

The laptops you'll find in Philipines are the just the same as the ones in the US. They're all manufactured in the same place hmmm China. ^^

You'll find the exact same brand and models.

Plus the warranty is usually only valid in the country where you purchased it. So if there's any problem, your loss...

A very few manufacturers offer international warranty.

It's also VERY risky to ship a laptop by mail, laptops have a high tendency to disappear during the shipment. If you do so make sure you purchase the extra warranty based on the value, so you get a refund if it gets "lost".

To put it into a nutshell, buy one there.

Hi all! I am planning to buy laptop here in the US to send to my brother for his schooling. I just wanted to buy here because i think it's cheaper and the quality is good. Does anybody have tried sending laptop to PI? How did you do it, what carrier, how much and how long does it take to arrive to the receiver? thanks for the reply in advance!

I shipped a laptop to Manila via USPS. If you declare true value you will get ripped off in Phl Customs fees. I only declared the value at $100.00. as I had used the laptop briefly. You will save huge. Yes its always a little risky shipping to the Philippines. I have shipped 3 times without any difficulty.
