I entered the US driving my Canadian registered Mazda, and have since adjusted status and gotten my permanent residency. I cant figure out how to "import" my car though - all the links I find relate to bringing a car over the border, but my car is already in the US. Any advice?

This is what I did. I entered the US with my car. A month later I drove it to the nearest airport (Indianapolis) in my case, there was a small building called 'border and customs'. I asked the airport guest services and they showed me how to get there. Once there, I was asked for a letter of compliance, my passport etc. The officer was very friendly, he looked under the hood of the car and filled out all the paper work for me.

I then took those papers to the local dmv, driver's office and they were able to issue a new Indiana licence plate for my car.

So take the car to your nearest customs office.

The Lord is my strength and my shield,

My heart trusted in Him and I am helped,

therefore my heart greatly rejoices,

and with my song I will praise Him.

Psalm 28:7
