Hello VJ Friends,

I applied for college and were approved but cannot register because they need money ahead. I also applied for financial aid and the lady from Financial aid office said i have to get my green card and after that i can be eligible to get my financial aid. my financial aid already arrived to the college but i can't get it and the deadline for fall registration is soo close :crying:

and the lady also said that even if i'm getting my green card she will decide whether i'm eligible or not..

have anybody ever had situation like this? or lady just being not well informed with visa case? is there any proof some documents that i can proof and provide as my status is legal? my status is k-1 AOS.

thanks in advance :)

We had a daughter on the 11-12-2010 named AISHA JOY means HAPPY LIFE.a1_opt-1.jpga2_opt-1.jpga3_opt-1.jpg

The thing with colleges is that there is no standard they must follow. They can form their own policies with respect to admissions and financial aid. If they are telling you that you need a GC then likely you need the GC - it may just be their policy. I'd made an appointment with their international student advisor to see what can be done to help you.

Good luck.
